Well, the first Color Camera was created in 1907, so they had the technology..

They were just probably way too expensive and too hard to find for many people to have one.

Color photography dates all the way back to the beginning of the 1800s,
though the technology wasn't used too much until 1900s.

These are most likely real photos.
It's weird to look at color photos of an era which we tend to visualise as black and white in our minds.
