I often see it being attacked by TV shows or other people and i don't see what the deal is with the network. I dont have sky TV nor do i live in America so i don't watch the programmes. Could someone fill me in as to why its such a bad network?
Bad network with the best ratings I guess. People are sheep and equate Bill O'Rly with the news.
It's owned by Rupert Murdoch, supposedly the most evil Australian ever. That's it, I believe. Oh, yes, they do anything Murdoch says which gives them a very narrow view and strong bias, many argue.
I did an experiment at work one night. We have three big TV's on the wall. I put on FOX, CNN, and MSNBC. They all covered the same big stories the same. I saw no bias one way or another. The only time they are different, is when you have the opinion talk shows at night. Like I said, people are sheep and cannot tell the difference.
fox news tried to sue the simpsons, dumbasses. but otherwise no real reason.
It tends to be labeled as a network that is more supportive of the conservative side of things, even though every show I have ever seen on there allows both sides to be heard. It is the number one network and when you are number one...you get a lot of haters whether justified or not. I watch fox news because it is really the only network that at least tries to show the positives sometimes. If you watch our regular national news, you would think the world was about to end and if you watch CNN and some other liberal leaning networks, then you will get a lot of negativity, not as much as the national news like NBC, CBS.. but close.
The reason Fox news is number one, in my opinion, is because people get tired of hearing all the trash all the time spewed by the other networks and because the people that hate fox want to hear what is said next. Just like Howard Stern (you may not know him) but most people either love him or hate him but both listen to him to see what he will do next, therefore he gets top ratings.

I've noticed this as well, the only difference I can tell between say FOX and the BBC, is FOX has flashing lights and face paced music. Apart from that the stories are basically the same and I see little bias from these networks at all.usmarine2005 wrote:

There is a great difference between BBC and Fox, you can spot it simply by watching TV. Other than that, truth is that the differences between Fox and CNN are few and sometimes hard to spot (don't know about MSNBC).
But if you really want to find out how the media manipulate the people, I suggest doing a little bit of research. Start by the way they use language to present a case the way they want without necessarily "lying". Specifically, there is a documentary about how certain news agencies use language to favor the Israeli side over the Palestinians. Don't remember what it's called though...

CNN and BBC are just as biased. You're not going to perceive bias in a network aligned to your own biases.
It doesn’t lean left in its handling of “ The News ” and that is unforgivable.
Despite their lofty claims, Dissent, Discussion and Divergent opinions are not tolerated by the Liberals.
Now that they lost their Monopoly on the Media they are Rabid about it. It's comical in its proportions.
Ps O'Reily is only Op Ed. but thats the best come back argument they have so...

I really don't care about the conservative bias of FOX, considering the bias of other media outlets. What bugs be is how watered down their news is. They are really playing for the absolute lowest common denominator. All their stories are made so that any idiot can absorb them. Then there are my personal favorite; the news that shouldn't be news. You know all the stories of dogs who saved their owners and all the crap about the personal lives of celebrities. All FOX is is an attention whore. They just want people to watch as much of them as possible. and when you address a border audience, you need to make your messages stupider.
Sadly FOX is not the only network guilty of this, but it seems that do it the worst.

Its Bill O'Reilly, straight up.
You know, the majority of networks are liberal, what's wrong with one conservative news network?
It's unfortunate that people won't watch the news without having it interpreted to their satisfaction. There should be no such thing as a bias on a new station. Just give us the facts and let the loud-mouthed Op-Ed dickwads go somewhere else.
Watch this to see what people don't like about FOX: Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism.

I was just about to do that!Kmarion wrote:

Personally I get all my real news from Fox News. Of all the commentators on Fox news I love Cavuto (Your World with Neil Cavuto) and Greg Gutfeld (Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld)

Anyways, Fox news has an extreme bias when it comes to their talk shows, sometimes even shutting off the speakers mic if it does not go in favour of fox.
Yeah, I noticed that first part.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

I watch Fox news as my main source of news intake, and maybe my own bias has stopped me from seeing all this but I don't think Fox is as bad as everyone is thinking. It doesn't seem like they are any more biased than CNN (as said before). I just think that so many people are [i]so[/] anti-conservative that when it does show a bias, it gets blown out of proportion.
Regardless of if you like the network or not, the show "Hannity and Colmes" really can't be considered biased. On one side you have Sean Hannity, a very right-wing Conservative. On the other side you have Alan Colmes, a very left-wing liberal. In the middle you have the issue, and they both equally have their opinions and thoughts etc. about it. Pretty simple concept.

As far as I'm aware, FOX is the only news network to have actually gone to court to defend their right to lie, mislead and just plain make up their news.

That's a good way to inspire confidence in your journalistic scruples.

Anyone seen The Simpsons 400th episode? The scene where Homer and Lisa and that News guy are watching a Fox News report? That sums it up. Exaggerated, funny, but it has a point.
People here bash it because its right wing news.
