The topic says it all.
well, seems like Dered Roddy, the drummer for Hate Eternal, to me! Yeah, awesome skills.
But check out this noname guy here

great drummer....horrible music.
that other one is really good
yes. The music of Hate Eternal and Behemoth is even to hard for me, and that must mean somethingsiciliano732 wrote:

But those hardcore extreme metal drummers are really skilled. As I play drumms I can tell that a 220 bpm blastbeat with 4/4 double bass in 16th is hell of playing!
Check this guy, it´s Marco Minnemann, one of the best drummers (from rock to jazz) around.
who is the man stunning at video 2? sounds like he lost his voice, and try to sing :S
Compare these to Travis from Blink 182 for me, I can't play them at the moment.
Honestly I dont know why Travis is so much hyped atm... Of course he´s a damn good rock drummer and he´s fast. But compared to Rino Killerich, Dave Lombardo, Hellhammer, Frost, Nicolas Barker etc etc. he hasnt nearly the speed on bass, toms, snare.
Ok, its not all about speed, but imo Travis is overrated

My cousin on his practice snare
Dered Roddy is pretty badass but he's all about speed and constant drumming. I myself prefer a bit more technique.
My favorite Metal drummer is of course, Pete Sandoval from Morbid Angel.
But my vote for the best drummer would be Danny Carey from Tool, his drumming style is so sophisticated and utterly brilliant. Danny Carey told a reporter in a press conference that he once sold his soul to Satan himself for l33t drumming prowess.

Nick Barker from Dimmu Borgir is pretty badass too.
Wish I'd spotted this one earlier.
Nicolas Barker and Gary Thomas = win
Reasoning: They can play anything anyone else can play, very few people (if any, I know of none) can play what they do.
BTW That is Mr Roddy in the OPs vid, I have the same solo without the music somewhere on my PC.

Nicolas Barkers drumming is way to clinic imo, although I like his style when he played for Dimmu Borgir.
About Daniel Erlandson (Arch Enemy), he´s one of the most underrated drummers in metal. Although he plays nearly every genre perfect. Yeah, I forgott him in my faves.
But without doubt, the ultra drummer if it cames to speed and technique around is Hellhammer (Mayhem, Covenant, Dimmu Borgir)! I´ve visited a workshop of this guy latley, he played the fast doublebass part of the new Borgir Album (fastest doublebass recorded so far) without any triggers! Insane freak!
