8800GTX Vegatation lag

Ok, so when I play any game and I point my gun/screen to either trees, grass etc, I get uber lag. Is this normal? Because I never had it before... Does anyone think an RMA is necessary?

Specs:
3.45 GHz C2d E6700 (Yes overclocked )
Asus Striker mobo
2gb ddr2 ram
8800GTX
150GB raptor.

Drivers: Nvidia 158.24 DX10 capable.

Card temp is usually 76c when running (nominal). It does not lag anywhere else, like humans etc, when I zoom with sniper to a tree, it lags a shitload. Me think card is semi fucked.

Check your PCIe mode. On P5B Deluxe it lowered to 1x when overclocking (especilally when going over 3.0GHz), this might be the same. Of course this means huge loss of performance.

It's an OC'ed (obviously) E6600 IIRC.

EDIT: That is odd though, it sounds almost like a driver issue. Tried removing and reinstalling them? How long has it being doing this for?

That's a pretty basic OC for a C2D, they go plenty higher.

as for the lagging, have you tried an earlier graphics driver? I'm guessing this is a recent occurrence or has it happened since you got the card?

Take a look in your driver control centre to find out what it is meant to be default, and then what it is in whatever game it is you get the vegetation lag. Anything over 8x could lag you out if you have high textures / lighting etc.

Point is, it didn't lag before... Like this started happen around 2 months ago, didn't think it wasn't the card, but now I think it is.
