I mean, the latest logos for some of the competitions are excellent.
For example
Is a brilliant logo. The design is perfect and its beautiful to look at.
So is this logo. Brilliant use of simplicity.
And this for the final.
I think they should get the designers of the UEFA cup and Champions league logos to make the London 2012 ones. The designers for those logos are amazing.

That one with big ben and the millenium wheel would have been more appropriate, at least it looked a bit better. That current one appears to have nothing to do with London. Like the Athens one had some sort of Ancient Greek styling to it. Besides you surley all know Beijings logo,

I work as a graphic designer and can't understand how anyone signed off on that horrible logo.
