- I suck at getting team points!
ammo, supply, fly in choppers with good pilots and good gunners.. you get kill assists... those count... and repair stuff.
be a medic. every heal gets you one, every revive gets you two. be the first one in a flag cap zone and youll get two for every neutralization and two for every capture.
I think the absolute best way to get team points is to be the pilot of a good Blackhawk crew. The caveat is this:
a) You need to be a good pilot. You need to know how to set up your gunners well enough that they'll kill anything and everything. You also need to know when to hang tight, taking damage, and when to get outta dodge.
b) You need a competent and diverse crew. This is the harder one since you have no control over it. You need a medic (usually myself flying), two good gunners (any class really, but support is nice) and you need at least once engineer (more is obviously better) and they need to not get scared at the first lock-on alarm.
If you can get a really good BH squad going, team points pour in. My best on Mashtuur is 88, which is nothing. You get points for every kill, every heal, every repair, every neutralize, every capture... EVERYTHING and it adds up super fast. So try to hone your pilot skills and then try to get a good group in Mashtuur (best BH map).

thnx guys for the help ill see what I can do
Get on a 64 player map with only 10 players (5v5). The map will last so long that you will be able to get many team points no matter what you do(unless you do nothing).
be medic
Be a medic and revive anyone you see and heal also. That way the enemies will just shoot more and lose ammo and when they gonna attack they are mostly out of ammo or GL shots
I'd say play medic for a while. But I wont argue with Durk_Diggler, ive seen players clock up amazing scores as pilots in Mashtuur.
play medic, best is city maps like karkand or sharqui, or wake, as it has a lot of ground fighting. heal, revive, cap flags. Also, drop med packs at every possible spot, even when there is no teammate in medical need around. sooner or later, someone will pass by, spot the pack and bang "you got a healing point". For example, on sharqui, you can easily pick up 10-20 healing points simply by dropping a couple of medic bags at the surveillance point flag every time you spawn there or pass by.
if you play support, keep close to a squad and also keep dropping those ammo bags. believe me, there will always be someone in need of ammo. drop ammo bags at flags and known choke points, those supply points will keep rollin' in.
if you play engineer on one of the vehicle-dominated maps ( songhua, daquing oilfields, zatar wetlands ), don't run around with your wrench. get a jeep or an apc and keep close to the rest of the pack, repairing them "on the fly". repairing assets with your wrench out is fine, but it takes too long and you are an easy target for enemy snipers or Spec Ops. Also, you are much more mobile in a jeep or atv, which means you can get to teammates who need repairs faster.
the other alternative is the BH thing, but that requires some help from teammates including a good pilot.
But as Durk has said, that is the fastest way to get team points, no doubt. even on a standard 32-player map
you can easily get well over 100 points in a round.
another way is to play on a 64-player server with only a few people on it ( just enough to get the round started ). because of the small number of players, the tickets will go down very slowly, usually meaning that the round literally lasts hours. get a vehicle and drive from flag to flag. Personally, I believe that is close to exploiting, although technically it ain't.
hope that was helpful

Blackhawk whoring.
88 pts? I got 106 and that sucks compared to some who have best round scores in the 200's. Mashtuur City on the blackhawk. If you want the team points either fly as a medic, or ride as an engineer and do nothing but crank the wrench. The kill assists add up quick if you have a good crew. Your doing your job of keeping the thing flying. So you don't get kills, that's ok as long as your helping your team and squad.
Another good way to rack up some points. Join a ground squad and stay with your squad leader. I got 75 points on the MEC side of Mashtuur City last night. We won that round too.
I had 10 kills. Everything else was team points.

2 Words: Karkand, Medic
Seriously, though, playing medic or support is the best way to go - even if you don't get into a good squad that moves together capping flags.
The BEST way to get those nasty little team points is to play in a squad of at least 3 people (4 is better). It is really nice to have 1 support, 1 medic, and one "you pick" in a squad of 3. If you have 4 or more, I'd say have 2 medics, making sure that at least one isn't the guy "leading the charge." If you move as a unit, you'll never run out of ammo, and unless you are just completely raped by arty, armor, helo, jet, etc., you will stay alive thanks to your medics. Everytime you cap a flag you get 2-4 points - the actual capping, and the neutralizing.
Also, if you play on a map where you can spawn easily at your main base (i.e. it is uncappable), check to see if stuff needs repairs. Then, spawn as Engineer, and go and fix the stuff and catch up with your squad later - or ask them to wait a bit if you all spawn at the same time. Repair points are the hardest to get IMHO. I also think you can get repair points by fixing those wooden fence portions that get blown up - like the first fence you get to on Karkand if you play USMC and spawn at the eastern Arty location. Cheesy, but with repair points legitimately hard to come by (unless in a BH, and that is harder these days), any point helps.
Speaking of repairs, IMHO, there is no excuse for not spawning as Engineer if you are going to drive a tank or APC. Also, on maps that give your team at least two pieces of armor, there is no excuse for not sticking together as armor drivers. You can get repair points easily on the fly just by being close to each other. This works well on tight maps like Karkand or Warlord, but it is best on stuff like Songhua Stalemate and Fu She Pass.
One area I need to improve on is getting into the habit of dropping medic packs and ammo packs as often as possible. Patch 1.2 has kind of made me rethink doing this as a medic, because if you drop all your packs and shortly after have to revive someone, you are screwed waiting for your defibs to charge.

Lucky, I disagree with you in respect on spawning as an engineer and vehicle whoring. An Engineer or Support are the choices. I know what your saying about spawning as an Engineer. If your in a squad and 2 of you got vehicles to drive, then 1 should be an engineer and the other support. You can switch vehicles every so often to get ammo and repairs points as well.
That does take some trust with your squadmates when you swap vehicles like that. It does work if done correctly though.

I respect your point of view. It is valid, and it is certainly one way of doing things.DSRTurtle wrote:

I respectfully disagree, however. :-)
It is rare that I ever come close to running out of ammo in any armored vehicle. The reason for this is that those supply crates are around (somewhere!), and dudes are throwing ammo bags around like beads at Mardi Gras! More often, I am in a situation where I've taken a hit from an AT rocket or tank shell and have lost around 50% of my vehicle's health bars. Now, if I am the support guy in your scenario, I'm happy, because my Engineer buddy is repairing me just because I am in close proximity to his vehicle. That's nice, but if my buddy is the one who took a hit, then we're kinda hosed unless we find a supply box. It strikes me as being almost suicidal to jump out and swap while we are being shot at. And, we might not have enough time to boogie to a safe spot to do that kind of stuff.
2 engineers teaming up in armor (and it really isn't whoring if you don't do it every round, is it? i actually do have a conscience!) is the best way to go, because by being close, you fix those little nicks that you get when you drive over rough terrain or bang into a building. You are almost always motoring around at full vehicular health. Those extra 2 or 3 bars can mean the difference of surviving to be repaired or ending up in a smoking heap of metal.
One time on Warlord, I was in one of those funky SAS buggy things as an engineer, and I was following a tank. Well, the guy went to the Plaza flag to cap it and was greeted by a hit from an AT guy hiding on top of the building or somewhere around. Well, I hid on the far side of the tank near the wall area and started fixing him up. BANG! Another hit from an AT rocket. Fix, fix, fix, fix. BANG! Another hit. Fix, fix, fix, fix. KSPLANG! Yet another hit! Fix, fix, fix, fix. Finally, his gunner got out and tracked down the perpetrator and pwn'd him. It was close, because I think the AT rocket was taking bars away faster than I could replace them, but the point is that I kept the tank alive, and hence, we capped the flag.
The number of players on the map other things might force a change. It just depends on the situation. The number of players on the map, and the map itself.
Leviathan, 4 wheeler squad, 5 on 5, 64 player map. I think we played ring around the rosey for about two hours, killing each other if we happened to run into each other, but it was a flag cap fest. 258 points, 47 kills, rest flag caps, as I was anti tank. Gotta love the DAO.. Being a night map helped also..
Almost forgot, 258 points, but NO STAR of any color..
