The only thing I would add to the above mentioned is Brazil and Dead Man.
Brazil: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088846/
Dead Man: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112817/

Stalingrad. Loved it, watch it in German with subtitles.
I'm impressed ATG ...I'm always arguing with my mates that it's better to watch a film in it's original language with subtitles than in a dreadful voiceover. Subtitles ftw

I've always been really impressed with some of Guy Ritchie's movies like Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.  They've got action, comedy, and loads of witty Brits.  Layer Cake was another good one in the action category.

If you haven't seen it, Grandma's Boy is a great flick as well (as long as you like stoner humor and video games).

'Dead Man's Shoes' by Shane Meadows is an excellent brit flick. Many people consider Meadows to be better than Guy Ritchie; nearly all of Meadows films are excellent.

Well i just got done watching Fire In The Sky and it was a creepy movie, it didnt pick up untill about half way through. They did a good job making the film although the techniques they used to layout the alien parts could have been better. I would love a remake ran by M. Night Shyamalan
