So I quit,
1. I wasnt that pleased with my own entry, but I had to hurry up because all the spots were filled the other times I'd tried to enter..
2. I dont like being accused for entering a fun comp. where everyone can enter (noob or experienced).
3. I dont get why people have to be that way, just because of different styles, we cant all be masters at sigmaking you know..
4. Mostly a stylish sig wins (which I have no problem wih at all), so I wanted to try something different. so:
- I "deformed" the car to enhance some of the features of the car, and to make it "Cartoon'y"
- I highlighted some parts with a black brush
- I blue'ifyied the car a bit
- Chose a highway background, and mod'ed the colors to fit the subtle "cartoon" theme..
but thats not good enough, so be it.. But I dont like to be accused of things I didnt do..
so that was my first and last entry here..
call me a noob, call me a amature... but you dont have to mock me, I'm not retarded you know..

You're right about complex sigs not necessarily being the best, and actually, complex sigs are usually the worst. But if you want something (anything size) simple then you need it spot on, because there's nothing else to look at when you go simple. That's why minimalism is so much harder than a lot of people think.Ryan wrote:

IMO, #5 went for simple but didn't pull it off. If the sig maker actually took the photo, then it would probably work. Adding a few effects to a photo sometimes looks cheesy which is also why I don't really like it. Someone opened PS and added a motion blur with a car which isn't exactly creative. I know I for one would instantly think of a motion blur when working with a car, but that's probably because 99% of people will do also.
