lately i have been getting a huge lag between me and the game.

for example i could see someone shoot them with my g3 in the face unload 15 bullets into him then he kills me with 2 shots.

i ask the guy wow how much health do you have left, he replies full you never even shot at me.

he then picks up my kit and it is a  full clip. can this lag be caused by my power supply?

its beginning to get worse, it takes about a full clip to kill one person even if they are idle or the commander who inst watching.

any suggestions what this could be from if not ps.

Thanks for the help in advance.

No.  It's usually related to video card, memory, or internet.  What's you ping?

I don't think this is a power supply issue.  If it was, your computer wouldn't start or would crash frequently.  I'd say check your internet connection before any hardware was concerned.

A Trojan or otherwise rouge process can cause the game to noticeably lag. I know it sounds cliche but its a common change condition.

connection is fine, replaced the router a few months back to fix a connection drop which it did but this problem just started to happen about 2 weeks ago.

I'm having the same problem and it's so annoying.  I don't know why it happens... I have 4 gbs of ram an e6600 and an overclocked 7900gt.... and vista.... I'm guessing that's the problem

Is it like that the entire game.  I've had times where my ping is like 25 then shoots up to 300 for like 5 seconds then back down to 25.  Usually happens long enough for the server to kick me.

It's the strangest thing.  I'm not even using half my ram or processing power... it still throws a fit

it happens on every server i play on.... even in single player mode it will do it but just not as much

Regardless run a scan, there are viruses that can and will slip through.  No firewall or scurity measure is perfect, you dont need to download things in order to get them either.

Sounds like a fan issue, if your fan or other cooling measures arent keeping up that will cause lag, up until a failure.  Loud winding noises from fans are generally a sign of overheating.

I would suggest determining which fan is indeed cranking itself up during high stress, and either find the problem, or simply replace it.
