To be honest, I really couldn't give a monkeys about her anymore.
If the news would come back to report about her when something develops - fine.
If they leave it on the news back-burner whilst giving some important, new news the main coverage - I'd welcome them with open arms.
But parading this same story as the lead news item day after day, week after week is just ridiculous!
Take it in context - dozens of British children go missing every year, and many don't return.
For instance, there was a young boy who went missing on February 21st - but has he got any coverage? No! Absolutely none, and he probably never will - as well as probably being never to be found.
All this coverage of the same situation can lead to is a determined search for newspapers to find a scapegoat to give the story a slightly different twist. Indeed, the Sun had an interview about the only current suspect in custody - who is innocent until proven guilty (but seems to the casual observer that I am to be as innocent as the day is long).
It's a sad state of affairs, and although I empathise with the parents, this is a struggle for them to go through now, and any continued publicity can only do harm to others & will no longer further their cause.
