I've recently formatted my PC (one month ago) and I've had nothing but problems with BF2; before the format, I never, ever had one issue. Unfortunately, I don't think the input lag is related directly to Battlefield 2, as it also happens in Test Drive: Unlimited.
In Battlefield 2, it happens mostly on ground (infantry) when there is an intense firefight. Let's say I'm running then let go of sprint; it keeps on running and if I try to look left or right, it'll look left or right a second or so after I moved my mouse. Basically, it's impossible to have any type of infantry to infantry combat, as when I click Mouse1 to fire, it'll fire a second or two after I clicked Mouse1, then continue to fire long after I let go of Mouse1. Very annoying. To sum it up, it's not just my mouse; it's both my Keyboard and Mouse.
I've googled this and I've found various threads on various forums outlining my exact problem but unfortunately, no solutions.
Here's what I've done thus far to try and remedy this problem:
- Installed the latest Logitech iTouch Drivers
- Installed the latest Logitech Mouseware Drivers
- Installed a registry patch to force Mouse Acceleration to disabled in Games (SmoothMouseXCurve)
- Changed my USB Rate from 125Hz to 500Hz
- Installed the latest ATI Catalyst 7.4 drivers; also tried the version I've ran for years before the format last month (Omega 2.6.05a)
System Specs:
Windows XP Pro SP2 (All latest updates/hotfixes installed)
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe; P4 3.0C @ 3.3GHz
Audigy 2 ZS; 2GB Corsair TwinX XMS PC-3200C2PT
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
I honestly do not think that it is a hardware problem as I never had this issue until the day that I formatted (approximately one month ago); it is not directly related to Battlefield 2 as I know that it also happens in Test Drive: Unlimited.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you,
- Randy
