I couldn't find anything specifically related to this topic, so here it is.
It's been confirmed that an MGS movie is in the making

Apparently they want Christian Bale as Snake, do you think he would be able to play the part or should it be someone else.

IMDb describes the plot as being a remake of the original PS1 game.

Last I heard, Viggo Mortensen was the main candidate.
I believe Bale would suit the role better, however.

I still think the film will be crap if it ever comes to fruition.

If this were to happen, I'd wish for something to compare it against - such as a Halo movie (which is cancelled, dammit).

I really couldn't be more underwhelmed by Sony putting on some obvious pressure to cash in on a lucrative series. It disappoints me now, and if it ever comes to anything, no doubt it'll disappoint me then.

Wow. If they get it right....then it will be truly stunning and amazing.
If they don't, then it will be so bad that it will not be recognised as MGS.

But seeing as Hideo Kojima is directing...I think it will be amazing. That man is a true genius.

Although Christian Bale is not the right type to play Snake. We need a more..."gruffier" man if you get what I mean. The guy looks like a pussy.

David Hayter would have the voice (obviously) but I don't think he looks like the in-game snake. But if they're going to do a movie they have to follow the storyline strictly, including the weird shit, otherwise it wouldn't be Metal Gear.

lol, I wasn't implying dubbing, just it would be good to have the original voice with the actor.
The Japanese version willl be dubbed though.

It would be good to see REX on the big screen, they would be able to make a series of movies. MGS1 then 2 and then put the prequel in, 3, then move onto 4.

hmmm, I dont think it would work, the whole point of the game is the feeling of stealth gameplay it gives, I'm not sure you could possibly recreate that. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong

I think Bale would be a good Snake, but they better let David Hayter do the voice over. And Sean Bean as Liquid Snake. However, I'm a huge fan of the series, so I'm a little worried that a movie might suck and drag MGS down. MGS itself is almost like a movie, not to mention Mortal Kombat has been the only good movie based off a game, and that was made 15 years ago. So who knows what'll happen.

Why don't they just let David Hayter play snake? He's an actor too. Plus he actually does resemble snake a bit. I don't think anyone but him could believably do snakes voice. Either him or Kurt Russel since he played Snake in "Escape from LA/New York." Haha.

Hey check this out, a bunch of Japanese dudes and dudettes made their own MGS movie, its not badly made for low budget. Would be better if they spoke english though.
