i have a wireless internett conection with a router 10 meters away from my computer with a usb stick. on both of them it says: 108 mbit/s. when I check for the signal strength it says one place that the link quality is 7% and the speed 3mbps and another place: speed- 54.0 mbps signal strength- very low. Anyway on BF2 i get the message "There is a problem with your internett connection" and i get disconnected after 5 sec. I only managed to se my ping: 1200! How can i fix this?
in my computer it says sometimes very often that(connection speed 512 Kbs).
Even if i have ping like 60-40, it comes to the screen and the game shuts down the connection...
Actually i know that this happens when there are 2-3 or more "high-pingers" on the server.
So i made a decision that whenever it comes to the screen (the message about connection)
i just press ESC and disconnect. but that's my problem only

Nothin odd about it, ive always played bf2 on a wireless network, apart from when i 1st got it. I used to have major issues with getting disconnected! After I installed my wireless i stopped getting connection errors and my ping went down, i'd say it probably an issue with your hardware, is it old equipment? what kind of download speeds are you getting?cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
wow... odd, maybe he got better hub or sumthingJenspm wrote:
that sounds weird, 'cause my cousine plays bf2 just fine with a wireless connestion...cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
only wired, not wireless
I play BF2 on broadband through a wireless lan (version g). My WLAN's speed is 54mbps (reasonably good for Wi-Fi as the official g spec speed is 24mbps i think), and the broadband connection is 1mbps. Providing i play on 'local' servers i get a ping rate of sub 50, which suggests you have enough bandwith to play without problem. That said, 3mbps on a WLAN that says it can acheive 108 is obviously smells fishy.
How well does your WLAN and Net connection work when your not playing BF2? If it performs well when downloading vlarge files it wouldn't suggest there is a problem with your hardware.

well it works fine surfing on the internett... On the little computer thing on the bottom right of my screen it says: 54 mbps. Beside that there is a scale that shows link quality: 21% and 11 mbps. (it has changed) is the scale my broadband. I took a test on the internett and it said i had 1344 kbit/s.
I had the exact same problem here and the only solution is...: Get rid of the wireless connection...Jenspm wrote:

Someone is smooching off your wireless.
Been playing with a wireless connection for some time now, and have never had any problems playing BF2. I have a PPOP account with wireless connection. Now that I have just downloaded the new patch that just came out, the game has started to totally shut down and take me back to the desk top??? I heard that the Great Wall has more shut downs more so then the rest? What can we do to fix this?? Please, email me at [email protected] . Thank You!
I meant to mention that I have hooked up the computer on my business cable connection as well, and the same thing is happening over the cable connection (Game Shuts down randomly, after the new patch was put on). I played a few months on my wireless connection without any problems. Also asked my wireless service provider about playing games, and they said there would be no problems. Have several people say that a wireless connection would not work, but is quite funny that I have been able to play fine over this type of connection for a long period of time. Even so, if it is my wireless connection, it dose not explain why I still get kicked off randomly over the cable connection? I do believe a satellite connection and a wireless connection are to different creatures. It is my understand that the wireless connection operates over a different radio frequency?
well, i dont think these people read ur post properly, but its pretty obvious that the signal quality is bad, so move it(router) to make it better
