A few weeks ago I had a hard disk crash.  I re-installed BF2 with the appropriate patches up to 1.4.  I then tried to load BF2SF from CD.  The install went fine, with no error messages.  However, when I try to load BF2SF I get an error message saying that it can't locate certain map information, i.e. rain, etc.

Has anyone experienced this before and if so, is there a fix?

The only course of action I can think of is to re-install BF2 from scratch, loading BF2SF before any of the other patches...?

Any advice welcome.

BF2 - BF2SF - then patch to 1.41. In that order.

Thats correct the patches apply to Service packs too...Its best to install in the order they where released finishing with 1.41

OK, you're right... so I've changed it and made it smaller.  Cool?

Since were on the subject of Loading Iget the problem of not wanting to Load. It tells me that it is patching back to 1.1 and then 20 minutes later it still has not move passed the patching window screen. I just put a 100 gig HDD into the puter and am reinstalling all aspects...  I installed BF2 and then I try to install BF2SF and it stays on the patching to 1.1..

ANY IDEAS I AM READY TO SAY FUCK IT AND JUST PLAY BF2....?

Did you install Windows again?

If your SF won't install properly over your BF2 installation then obviously something's screwed up so the first thing most anyone will suggest is to try uninstalling BF2 and trying again.

I have did a complete install of the OS because I had to change hard drives. I didnt have the problem  before I changed the HD, every thing is the same except for the HD and now i cant even play BF2 ONLINE...
Every time I try to join a room it kicks to desk top and closes the game completely....

WTF   this shit sucks I am have withdrawals...... I NEED A MEDIC HERE>>>>  YOU LIVE BUDDY NOW GET BACK IN THERE AND FIGHT
