Ive got an MS Intellimouse optical 1.1A, lately the red light will shut off at random times and ill lose all controll of my mouse. It got irritating enough to post here because its a hard search on google.

It only seems to happen when playing bf2, and usually at the worst of times. Ive tried new drivers, they didnt help and screwed up my configuration so I uninstalled them anyway.

It might be something to do software related, as I cant really pinpoint when it started, for awhile i thought it was just skipping untill I realized the lights turn off when it would stay off for some time.

Help would be very much appreciated.

I checked for viruses

Well if it's only during BF2, then it can't be dead batteries, or a bad mousepad.
And it works fine otherwise?
How about different games?

Maybe you should return it.

Is it wireless?  If so, check batteries.  Also, I've had issues with PS2 mice that sound like the problem you're having, so if it's one of those, try a USB one.

quick replies thanks.

Shouldve said, its not wireless.
Ive had this mouse for probably 3-4 years, no problems untill recently.

Yes, it works fine untill I try to play BF2, only game I really play anymore so I dont know...?

Its plugged in through the PS/2 port through an adapter, I switched to USB and it kept happening.

...As frequently as it shuts off in BF2 ive never noticed it on the desktop?

Possibly check your BF2 settings.... and it also could just be too old to run properly.

Sorry if this doesn't help much.

Hey, any attempt really is appreciated, i barely even want to play, your confidence really goes down when your 'waiting' for your mouse to screw up.

Nah, Ive played BF2 alot, use to play CS at times, never any problems untill about the last week or two.
