You'll never get a rig that is future proof.
Yeah u can - im pretty sure a $2mil Cray2 will keep u going for a fair few years as a gaming rig
Didn't Intel recently make a 128TB processor?
roadrunner?, although not 128 terabyte but over 1 petaflop. something around 17,000 opteron cores, and 17,000 cell procs.

Okay, for NOW I have decided to go with the EVGA 8800GTX and overclock it myself, and get an e6400 CPU and overclock it myself. The problem is, I have never overclocked anything, and I am worried about screwing up and blowing basically 700 bucks. If I overclock it myself and I need help, I will find someone to help me I guess...

I have 4 days left in my step-up upgrade window, I'm thinking about grabbing a 8800GTX also.

you need at least DDR2 ram, DDR3 is already on the market in limited numbers

btw it says that my pc-6400 ram is running at 400 but when i start up the CPU and the test runs to test memory, IDE, sata drives and cpu it says it runs at 742 mhz, solutions?

Ram is AMD's problem with the memory controller. 400mhz X2 = 800mhz. It's because of the dual channel ram.

because of the FSB...getting ram that runs over 667MHz right now is a waste, assuming you run it in dual-channel.
You make no sense. Higher speed ram = win. I don't know what you're smoking.
Exactly.

I dunno what you're talking about, because of the FSB? wtf? You need higher speed RAM because of the high FSBs, especially when OCing.
yeah. higher ram speed ftw. and the 800mhz ram is as cheap/or even cheaper than 667

If you wanted to get two 200GB Western Digital Caviar 7,200RPM and you RAID 0'd them, it would cost around $120. I have a question, how do you get those two hard drives to run RAID 0?
