In Canada, they don't taze you for being drunk. I was shocked to see how quickly they tazed her. The guy was waiting with the tazer outstretched ffs. Cops can be just like criminals, bending and breaking laws to get what they are after and this is just as true in Canada. If someone pulled that stunt on film in Canada though you can be sure the press would hear about it.theknuck wrote:

Raise his voice, show some authority. Nine out of ten times that would have worked. If not, toss her in the slam for 2 hours and let her cool down and get her sober, then talk to her again.
Anyway the bitch wasn't doing anything. She sat on a sofa crying until the cop started pulling her up. The drunk bitch said: "get your hands off me". The pussy cop decided he couldn't deal with it, had to step back and ask a college to taze her for that reason. If you cant deal with a drunk woman, then you shouldn't be a cop.

How do you deal with an intoxicated woman? Talk to her, or do you need to taze so she's lying on the floor before you dare to raise you voice at her? That was just pathetic of of the cop.
For your information: I have worked as a salesman, i have done volunteer work with people with psychiatric problems, now i study to be a school teacher. I'm used to deal with people. In this case: I'd just look the bitch in the eyes and treated her as an human being. The cop in this clip shows insecurity, that gives the woman the upper hand. It's pure psychology...

Better to be manhandled then to be tazed where it risks your life. I don't know how america's legal system got so out of whack, but I do believe you have more lawyers then the whole world put together, so it is not really a suprise - all of them want to earn a $$$ living. I'm sure your right about the lawsuit in that regard, but I fail to see how a judge accepts the argument that it was ok to taze her over trying to calm her down with more diplomatic methods.
Edit: and a quick point, as everyone on this forum is by definition an armchair authority on (insert topic subject here); I still think people can make valid points with reasonable minds. Don't flame someone just because you don't agree with them, or because your too fucking lazy to address the issue. Anyways I'm sure an argument can be made that since the woman was drunk she wasn't capable of responding to all commands as expected. She should have been put back in the cell to wait for the effects to wear off; that is what the drunk tank is for. Then deal with her. It's like tazering a handicapped person for being unable to comply. Except the drunk/druggie effects will wear off...
