I'm not exactly sure what it is myself, but i'll search it up.

In a nutshell it's a video card benchmarking application - it's designed to push your video card to it's absolute max and I can guarentee that '06 will push far harder than even the current topend cards can handle - then when it's done trying to cook your card it'll give you a 'score' that you can use to compare your video card against another.

The only thing it can do to your card is cause your video card to run hot for a little while from all the computations and rendering being forced on your card.  In other words, your video card will probably hate you for making it do all that work, but it won't damage it or even affect it really.

Sorry, was that me using the word 'cook'? As others have said - modern video cards protect themselves pretty damn well - obviously, damage _can_ happen, but it's relatively rare...

Anytime your computer is on it could get damaged at anytime from a thousand and one different things - 3DMark is no more risky than playing BF2.

well my card sucks alot, so i dont think i'll try it.
