i think its all for the gung ho feel and look. From my point of view, acting as all "gangsta" is equivalent of being a "cowboy" of the old west. they make their own rules,  they do what they want, demand"respect" while terroring the town's citizens, smoking opinum (equivalent of drugs) and shooting their guns in the air. so in a way acting all gangsta is thing of the past, present, and possible future.
EDIT: it would really suck balls if a strong wind came in...HAHAHAAH

Did you know that 70% of mainstream hip-hop is consumed by young white males?  For that demographic, hip-hop music may be the only chance they get to experience the ghetto lifestyle glorified by the media, it's their way of rebelling.

This is only a short clip of this movie, but if you get the chance you should watch the entire thing.  It's called Beyond Beats and Rhymes.

Oh no, facts!?  I'm taking a black music cultures class so I've been beaten over the head with this kind of stuff for the past semester.

Rap was good back when it was about surviving poverty.

Now it is about having more money, cars, bitches, and posse members and it sucks.

I can't remember who off the top of my head, but someone once said if you want to really kill something, commercialize/market it.

The movie "Crash" best speaks my opinion on this.

Pff I don't know who would want to experience the ghetto lifestyle. Call me crazy but crime and poverty doesn't float my boat.

Mainstream rap music is destroying the urban sub-culture from the inside out. Besides Bill Cosby,
older blacks that can draw a crowd don't confront how many blacks live.

Given current trends, one could only expect this to get worse.

What are your thoughts?
Short answer: yes.

Do I even have to say anything about this?? I don't get why these posts are even allowed, last time I checked the rules said that hateful posts weren't allowed. I guess racist isn't considered hateful.
Is "whigger" only hateful because it is a reference to that one other term?

Yes, because the part of that word that is referring to a white person is "white", while the part of the word reffering to a black person is "nigger". If it was like "Whack" or something, that would be fine. I personally use the term "wangsta", in which I am reffering to a "wannabe gangster" which is the best term to use in my opinion, because it contains no reference to race at all.

As opposed to the term "whigger", I think it would be more accurate to use the word "idiot" or "trash."

I would love it if he also talked the same.
