i pilot blackhawks on mashtuur, stalemate, and some other boards. with me flying, my squad and i are a monstrous force to be reckoned with. you may be able to take me out 2 or 3 times a game, thats it. i love the blackhawk, but i say hell no on bringing back the blackhawk flag whoring. i could win mashtuur in two minutes doing just that. and one of the best things i like about the new flag capping in 1.03 is that you must make a choice whether you want to keep everyone in the chopper while slowy capping the flag, or dropping your guys off and capping it quickly. the situation calls for different tactics, and this capping system forces us to come up with new unique tactics. if youre in a tank with a gunner, youve got to decide; is it worth taking this flag slowly with an extra 50cal, or quicker with a less powerful gun?

Don't BS me SysTray. Even NOW when passengers cannot cap a flag inside the blackhawk, it decimates a flag pretty fast. Hovers over the flag, auxillary passengers jump out leaving the 2 main gunners in, flag goes down in 10 seconds, everyone boards the BH and moves off. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

While I do realize that this would mean the return of blackhawk whoring, I see more good in this than bad. My first point is the realism of a passenger capping the flag.

If you are driving the Vodnik and you pull up next to a flag, who has the more realistic shot of lowering and raising a flag from a flagpole?

A: The driver, with both hands on the wheel.
B: The passengers, sitting in the car picking their asses.

If you have guys with free hands, they need to get credit for the capping, not the pilot of the chopper who can fly with his feet while dodging rockets and machinegun rounds while still raising a flag.

Second, the practicality of my tank gunner staying with me...any gunner really. If you're flying or driving, your gunner is a key role. You don't want him to leave is 80mm cannon or his .50cal, leaving you exposed to c4/whatever else you can think of. You don't want your engineers in the back of the vodnik or blackhawk to not be able to repair you on a moments notice. Many's the time since 1.03 that I've been in the APC, without my side and back gunners (since they have to get out and cap), and gotten c4ed. Not only does that buy the enemy time away from a key armoured vehicle, but it leaves my squad vulnerable to things they can't protect themselves from.

Third, a result of number two. Since I am without a gunner, I sometimes switch to the gunner seat in order to provide myself with faster turning and better protection against the afforementioned c4. Not only by doing that do I risk being shot out and having my vehicle stolen, but I risk losing flag cap points because some moron can hop in the driver's seat, then hop back out, and I am stuck with assists. BULL SHIT.

If it wasn't 1:40 in the morning I'd have some other reasons and examples for you all to share in, but I'm sure you all have met a time when you wish there was one extra help protecting you a little more when capping that key control point.

And if you can't give them full cap points, at least give them assists...after all, they are ASSISTING you, the driver, in capping the flag...whether raising it or watching your back while you raise it.
Love the idea and i miss it. that was great fully loading a BH and capping flags or shooting down a fully loaded blackhawk with a tv. Now its rare to find a fully loaded BH...Noticed ppl dont use them as much or its usually carrying like 3-4 ppl at the max.

My question is what if the PLA and MEC transport helo had mini guns on that could move in the same angles as the BH and deal the damage as the BH miniguns pump out? I think that alone would aid in keeping the BH's down w/ compromising the need for MEC/PLA to run mainly anti tank kits.

All in all I agree w/ allowing the BH to fly cap as well. Again it's a big kill bonus for the person that puts that killer blow into fully loaded helo.

One other thing has anyone else noticed it's nearly impossible to make a M95 pilot kill unless the air asset is hovering perfectly or landed on the ground? Whats the deal w/ that? Maybe in the new patch w/ the sniper fix we will be able to drop those damn birds like rocks?
