I have just built a new machine which will run BF2 beautifully, only problem is i can't find that booklet with the CD key on the back, is there a way I can find the CD in the other computer's files? or am i just doomed to searching through boxes upon boxes?
registry im pretty sure.
Nope its encrypted in registry.
you need the booklet.
you need the booklet.
Check your inbox mate.
If you registered the game when you installed it the first time open EA-link.
Go to edit > My account > login in the website that opens > Open "My games" tab > On the bottom there should be your CD-key

There is a chance that its not encrypted. So go to run - type regedit - go to Local Machine - software - EA GAMES - BF2 - ergc - now theres a file in there called "Default" right click it and click modify. Now look at the data there, if it states:
x93920000000000000000 <- after x9392 your cd key starts
then your in luck cause thats your key
if it states a bunch of random numbers and letter combos that are too big to be a key, then its encrypted.
Goodluck
btw dont save the file if you change it.

To the server admins.
When a player joins a server, the CD hash # is known to BF2CC, this is the basis of banning players.
Can the BF2 CD hash# be decoded - is this the CD key?
Could Ridir join a BF2CC administered server and have his CD key read to him?
