I think over the 18+ years I spent there I developed a better since of what a bunch of fucktards they are as a whole. And no, that isn't a generalization, 95% of them were a bunch of stupid, lazy and trashy assholes. Also, where did I say I was going to teach my children racism? Cry me a fucking river if you don't like it when people call you out for being closed-minded. You're not disagreeing. You can carry your personal beliefs to hell with you and I won't give a second thought to your passing. But are you saying that you'll tell your children to learn from their own experience, or will you encourage them to stay away from the darkies?
How is that a generalization? Modern terrorism was practically born in Eygpt and who can forget the whole Libyan deboggle with the good colonel? I suppose the recent news stories about Ethiopia and Somalia at an uneasy stand-off due to Islamic terrorists taking over the country and threatening the others borders is all fiction?
Name one fucking African country that has discovered a new resource and hasn't had a civil war or genocide because of it in the past 40 years. It isn't a generalization, it's a fact.
Besides, there are many black people in the US that invented useful things: George W. Carver, Charles Drew, Garrett Morgan, etc.
Alexander Graham Bell, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison....., I can name smart people too, but it doesn't mean some hillbilly in backwater Arkansas isn't still having sex with his sister.

I'll deal with Taiwan in a minute.
China as you know it the People's Republic of China, Taiwan as you know it is the Republic of China. Historically, a number of Chinese governments have fled to Taiwan when ousted, declaring themselves to be the true government of China, just living in Taiwan. When the Communists won the Chinese civil war, the Nationalists fled to Taiwan. Initially they were still recognised by the UN as the Chinese government, until Russia walked out (which, coincidentally, is why the Korean War was fought under the UN banner: Russia wasn't there to veto). In response, the Communist government was recognised, and Russia returned. Having said that, Taiwan has never been recognised as an independent entity by any major world power, including the US (who maintain a policy of "strategic ambiguity"). So, yes and no.Mekstizzle wrote:

And it's a debate we've had. Having said that, there is not real grounds for arguing that Taiwan is a separate nation at present. There is, however, (strong, IMHO) grounds for arguing it should be an independent nation. Regardless, it is, currently, a part of China.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

Australia, however, has had neither a civil war nor a genocide, but then Australia was started by the Brits who historically were murderous bastards, so I hardly think that counts.
Taiwan never declared independence, were a "rouge" state. Taiwan had oppression, but not genocide since it was not directed at a particular ethnicity.Bubbalo wrote:

The truth of it is we all generalize. It is human. Our brain revolves around our own personal experience and what we have seen for ourselves. Should we make the effort to try and comprehend that there are things beyond that? Certainly. That does not change the fact that everyone pre-judges everything that involves the use of their brain. This is not limited to judging races or people. If we did not "prejudge" Man would have never learned to stop putting his hand in an open flame. Humans would have never understood that when they see a lion they had better get the fuck out of there. We are all prejudice, the only difference between us is the willingness to accept more of what we have not personally experienced or have been taught. Anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest with you or themselves, and that is more dangerous than those who are open with their feelings.sergeriver wrote:

Probably, but based on his experience with them, his observation might still be true.
We base our findings on our personal experiences. It is impossible to know i.e. judge each person on the planet individually. That's why we categorize. We see / meet a person, someone new, and automatically judge him/her according to the way he/she talks, acts, dresses, his or her personal views, their job, anything really. And yes, sometimes the color of their skin, or their religion comes into that equasion, too.
It's a natural thing. The important part is to keep an open mind, and to be able to overcome one's prejudices, should those not be coherent with the facts.
As far as forums are concerned, I have always believed that it is a good thing the anonymity (sp?) of the forums allows everyone to speak their mind freely. I have problems accepting that people generally believe in a god or "holy" spirit. All religions (exept for atheism) are so full of bullshit it's unbelieveable. People waste their only life living under a carpet and self-starving themselves, and throwing rocks and sticks at other people. I say we just use our life to make the world a better place. Make peace, not love.
And on-topic: I agree that racism (and nazism, facism etc.) is unacceptable, although the definition of the term "racist" may be misinterpreted by many people. Also, jokes are fine as long as they come with a fair point. I'm no racist or nazist.

Interpersonal hostility that is directed against individuals based on their membership in a minority group. When this definition is applied, prejudice generally refers to existing biases toward the members of such groups, often based on social stereotypes; and at its most extreme, results in groups being denied life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness or, conversely, unfairly showing unwarranted favor towards others.

In reply to the OP,
No.
I say no, because the people I am prejudice against deserve it as far as I'm concerned. When it comes to personal opinion that choice is mine and mine alone. When I come into a debate or a discussion on a forum, I am supposed to give reasons why I feel a certain way or side a certain way based on facts or logical reasons. Now if I post something that is "racist" to you, you find it offensive because you don't believe in the same things, I on the other hand do believe in those things and find it offensive that you call me a bigot, racist, bad person for having them. If I posted anything other than my true beliefs than I would be lying and that would negate the point of even being in the discussion to begin with, and if I stayed out because of my beliefs that would be discrimination in and of it's self because I was not allowed to participate in free and open discussion because of my beliefs.
So, until Muslims can stop blowing themselves up because the guy in the mosque has slightly different beliefs;
Until the black people can stop crying and whining about equality and racism but then practice bigotry and racism in their popular culture;
Until Mexicans can stop illegally crossing the border, then holding rallies bitching about how they are not equal (YOU'RE FUCKING ILLEGAL DUMBASS!!);
Until white people can stop being trailer trash redneck morons and child molesters;
Until Native Americans can stop being lazy assholes who trash up everything around them;
Then I'm going to hate all of you.
Not to say everyone from every race is like this, but it takes a majority or close to a majority to develop a stereotypish generalization of these people. If not, I really don't care, because like they say in the military, you're only as fast as your slowest person.
I could go into details about how I believe over the course of time, white people have been a dominant race, but you people would just call me a racist, Nazi or bigot or something, even though I'm not and I only make that conclusion from looking at the facts of history and the course it led history down to present day. But whatever, there will always be a bleeding heart for the "less fortunate" or the "downtrodden" , for whom, I have no sympathy.

No, a real man isn't one who has to hide in the hole of ignorance because he is either too stupid or too scared to leave. But have fun in there.Cougar wrote:
Sorry my values aren't "good enough" for you. At least I'm man enough to admit my prejudices instead of hiding behind the "I love everyone equally" shroud of bullshit.
The day I meet a man who isn't racist, prejudice, or a liar, I'll sell your the Brooklyn Bridge for a dollar.
So yes, I dont have to hate any group of people categorically because I fear them for some mysterious reason. I DO hate the cocksucker on his cell phone in the fast lane on the 710 freeway when im trying to get somewhere, no matter what he looked like.
Yeah, I'm real scared. You're soooo smart for discovering my long standing and dark secret. When you hit the nail on the head I didn't know what to do other than cry and get pissy with you, because I couldn't formulate an intelligent response to match your "village idiot" statement. That one hurt me deep.golgoj4 wrote:
Sorry, you fail. Once again making stupid assumptions. I read all of your dipshit statements and you sound like a scared little kid. Sorry you get all pissy because I hit the nail on the head. But thats not my problem. I don't have to hate everyone because Im not scared of them. You can thrash and complain all you want, but its pretty apparent. Have a nice day.Cougar wrote:
Where did I say I was better than anyone? I just said I didn't like them. Putting more words in my mouth for the win.sergeriver wrote:
I never said I loved everyone equally. I just don't hate a certain group of people based on color, religion, ethnicity, etc. At least I'm man enough to admit I'm not better than other people instead of hiding behind the "I am better than black and Muslim people because I'm neither lazy, nor a terrorist" shroud of BS.
Btw, I have a ten dollars bill, do you have change?So basically, you're to slow to read the 2 pages worth of replies after that post so you decide "ahh fuck them, I'll just skip that and inject my own worthless, generic and repetitive opinion into the subject"? Must suck to be a fat, lazy, opinionated asshole, but I suppose every forum needs a douche.golgoj4 wrote:
So basically, your too slow to give every person an equal chance so you just lump them into the same group? Must suck to be that easily confused. But I suppose every village needs an idiot...
Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to go kill myself because I'm to scared to continue. Thank you golgoj4, you set me free.
