I think it will be more peaceful.  I think we're going to have a string of more violence, but I think the west is going to get tired of Islamonazis and there's going to be a global crackdown on terror, not just a USA and UK crackdown.

and I think that Israel is going to beat the shit out of its neighbors.

I think the world should crack down on the Zionazis and reign in the rogue foreign policy of the USA that has been adopted of late. If it isn't reigned in then we can expect terrorism spiralling out of control for many many years to come. It's quite obvious that US foreign policy is currently playing directly into Islamic fundamentalist hands.

I think Israel got a scare with the recent Lebanon conflict. Hence the reason they are now reaching out to the Saudi peace plan and treating it seriously this time. Israel is a broken nation.

Nah, I don't think so, if the Israelis wanna do something, they'll do it, the Lebanese should consider themselves lucky that the Israelis have held back so to speak. If the Israelis want to take out Hamas entirely, then all they have to do is wipe the place off the face of the earth. Besides its those in Lebanon that brought Hamas to power, so its their own fault if they get bombed in my opinion. If they don't want the Israelis levelling their neighbourhood down vote for a terror group.

I'm tired now, I need an afternoon hammock nap

P.S this probably has nothing to do with the thread, long story short, in ten years I'll be 29

I don't think a nuclear wasteland on the Israelis doorstep would exactly be very good for the Israeli environment or indeed their water supply! Hamas have nothing to do with Lebanon. They're Palestinian. Hezbollah launched the attack on Israel. They're Lebanese. Only a minority of the population of Lebanon elected Hezbollah members to parliament. Hezbollah are not and were not in power in Lebanon. Clear now?

10 years is too short for anything big to happen.

I would of gone with 23 years. The world in 2030.

Still, if they don't want Israelis attacking them because of the terror elements in their government, then why don't they remove them. Its a much their own fault if they get bombed because they won't stop people launching rockets into Israel, I'm sorry but if they don't want to stop Hezbollah or anybody else from attacking a country that didn't attack them first, then they're just asking for it.

Who knows? Maybe the US terror alert will actually drop down to light red or even orange?

I actually think the Democrats will get in after Bush, they'll swing the US's image back towards being more cuddly and friendly again and things might calm down a little (everything usually goes in cycles). Al Qaeda will continue to act like bunch of gobshites but world conquest will never be a reality for them. The battle for oil will get more intense and prices will continue to go through the roof, Europe will continue to unify and expand and Ireland will become a united nation under the European umbrella. Israel will continue to act like cunts but maybe (just maybe) they'll see the light and attempt peace in a two state solution with Palestine (who would initially have a hard time controlling their grass roots extremists but with a little luck and strong leadership would manage to do so). Globalization will continue with depressing success.
Nice!   I'll add that middle class people will be slowly bled of thier chances of doing anything as corporations own thier debt and find newer and more clever ways to make thier debt never go away while raising interests rates.   Technology will speed up at an ever faster rate, and as soon as the energy crisis has reached it's absolute peak, every penny has been made out of the crisis, and global war is on the verge, Some massive company like Dow, in a joint effort with a few major governemnts,  will suddenly come up with a solution that they "just discovered".

EDIT: ok, maybe more than ten years...sorry.

Just curious as to what you guys are predicting in the not-so-distant future.
There is much discussion about Israel and Palestine, about VA Tech and 9/11. How do all these seemingly endless events affect the world and how it revolves each and every day?

Terrorism seems to never end, and political debates over whether what's right and what's wrong in Iraq (and other Middle-Eastern countries) will continue for the next hundred years unless something is done now. Honestly, the world is bending at it's knees, and unless something drastic happens, it's all downhill from here on.

Apparently, we are on the edge of the sixth extinction, and only we can prevent it.
As for America, we'll have a much better president in power, people won't hate us quite as much, and we'll likely get less involved in the Middle East (hopefully).

As for the world...  Oil will be considerably more expensive, China will consume considerably more than it does now, the greenhouse effect will continue as usual, India will be the most populous nation on Earth, and pollution will be slightly worse throughout the world.
