Hi community! I need some help or advice on my problem...

After playing about 1.3 hours of 2142, my computer crashes to a black screen with 0.5 seconds of game sound looping in the background.  I usually play recon, and I noticed the crashes seem to happen when I use the invisible weapon heavily: that is I usually crash when I'm invisible.  As soon as I reboot (around 30-45 seconds), I immediately check my Mobo, CPU and GPU temperatures and they seem fine.  GPU=55 deg c , CPU = 45 deg c, and Mobo = 42 deg c.

I havent ruled out overheating as a probable cause, nor some Virus that AVG and spysweeper cannot find.  I am starting to suspect the recent patch could be the culprit.  Has anyone experienced this same failure?

I would GREATLY appreciate any input before I tear my computer apart and start to crave an upgrade which could easily cost me $1000

My specs:
Mobo: Asus A8N32 SLI Delux
CPU: AMD 4400
Ram: 2 gigs OCZ ram
GPU: EVGA 7800 GTX
PS: 550 watts

THANKS!!!!!

Have you tried to reinstall drivers? Take note that playing under Vista gives many guys a bummer.

Is it just after a specific game or every game after playing for a while?

I had a very similar problem on my 7800GTX's when I bought them, they were both faulty. For example, in certain games i'd get artifacts (in others they seemed to ok) for example.. In BF2 i'd get spikes in BF2 and Kotor whilst in Quake 4 i'd get texture problems and a black screen or black windows after closing it.

Course, after going through 2 7800GTX's I got a X1900XTX instead.
