Ok so here's the problem. No matter what my ping is (usually around 50) I get horrible lag/choppiness on every server I go onto. This leads me to believe its a hardware problem somehow. Here's my specs:

MSI i875 Neo LSR mobo (recent addition after my Asus board quit on me)
Intel P4 3.4ghz
BFG Geforce 6800 GTOC overclocked to 415
Corsair XMS 2gb matched pair, latency 2.3.3.6
Logitech G7 wireless mouse
Samsung 19" LCD monitor set at 60htz
Creative Soundblaster Xtigy 24-bit sound card
two maxtor 200gb hard drives

I don't know what the problem is, and I am starting to notice this "lag" or severe choppiness in any graphics intense internet game. I want to be able to play BF2 again and not have to scream at my monitor because I can't hit shit with the DAO-12 at 2 feet. In games like counterstrike source its not as much of a problem but its still noticable. I can surf the net and download at awesome speeds though. WTF is going on???

Recently, I've begun to notice similar stuttering, and youtube is also loading at a crawl pace. Lemme know if this is something hardware related, or if I'm being throttled.

What are your in-game video settings? What else is running on your machine?

Anfidurl, your's could be a bandwidth problem.

Ingame settings: everything is set to medium or low except for textures, which is high. AA is off, as is dynamic shadow.

Nothing else using much memory is running, antivirus is off, printer is disabled.

Are you overheating maybe? Hows the temp on your video card (since you're overclocked)?

No idea. Maybe get the latest drivers for your graphics card.

temps are about 48*C idle and around 55*C under load, i've got the latest drivers from nVidia. I've got a case that has a massive fan (13 inch?) on the side and a 140mm fan in the front and two 120mm in the back, so airflow isn't an issue lol

Delete your cookies, temp files & clear your history. If that doesn't work try re patching 1.41. If that doesn't work, check for spyware with a free trial at asquared.com. Good Luck!

How big is your swap file?
Make sure that it is 1.5 times your actual RAM.
I got 2GB too and set mine to 3070MB.
