There would be no reason to have your account reset unless you cheated on it.

I'd start a new account of course.  My new account stats would be a LOT better since I wouldn't have spent hours playing as a newbie, lowering my SPM, WLR and accuracy.

Note:  Notice I wrote "newbie".  "Newbie" is a word.  "Noob" & "nub" aren't.

I would first ask why. If I didn't get an answer from EA I would probably just piss about on other accounts I have (that is if ur saying STATS WIPE on MAIN account). Might buy 2142 or QuakeWars, maybe go back to playing Command & Conquer Zero Hour. BF2 is a great game and I wouldn't stop playing it for my stats, ever.

It's not like EA killed me chopped me up and cooked me and served me for lunch.

It is a game. I'm still alive, how do you ask I know I'm still alive? Cause I just paid property tax a few weeks ago. Pretty sure I don't have to do that when I'm dead.
