Ahhh! Our self-glorification thread has gotten too big for its britches and is spilling over into the Junk Drawer. We high and mighty pricks feel that you are cheapening the value of this.
Not really...
Not really...

Sergeriver had more votes than Kmarion or usmarine, and a higher percentage of votes. Why wasn't he inducted?
Also, please leave me out of future lists. Not interested, and I wouldn't want to upset marine.

No matter how we twist this back and forth it will never be quite fair, like why do some get a backstage pass outside a monthly vote, and that sergeriver got more votes in the april inductee in difference to usmarine and Kmarion in the first vote when they faced Cam and ATG isn`t that strange !Bubbalo wrote:

In addition why is some a honorable mention while others is just a hall of fame of the month ? Segregation and elite members ftw!!!
I`m sorry to say this event was badly planned and gravely misunderstood from the beginning allthough the idea isn`t that horrible !
The regular users make DST what it is, not the Hall of Fame !
An improvement of the hall of fame system could be:
The guys that are voted in gets to be honorable mentions and the author of best thread of the month gets the under the green thingy !
Nearly my last fucking 2 cents on the issue !

everybody should be inducted equally. i regret making different categories. if you're in, you're in.
Don't listen to those nattering naybobs of negativity.
Don't change a thing.
Don't change a thing.
Think the leader inductee is right, or else he wouldn`t have been the leader inductee right ?ATG wrote:

Well this is a stat site with rankings..lolsuperfly_cox wrote:

I was thinking something along the lines of once you get member of the month twice you get bumped up to honorable mention. We should have quarterly polls to elect more leaders also. Just ideas.

looks like i fubbed the original poll because gunslinger wasn't included.
I think Gunslinger should stay there with the honorable mention. If he wins another poll, add a star next to him or something like that. But he was voted and deserves to stay.Kmarion wrote:

well, its kmarion's call from now on cause its his show. if he wants to induct spawnofthemist, he can...though somebody would probably ban him for that
Personally I think those who win the monthly poll should be inducted into the honourable mention section permanently. We needn't have a poll every month - when those deserving of entry have all been inducted further additions will only take place when suitable candidates arise (>200 karma, DST regular, min of 25 votes for example).
I agree. Besides, people like The_Shipbuilder, Turquoise, topal, Bubbalo, Bertster, Ikarti, Lowing and others, should be there without the need of a votation.CameronPoe wrote:

Jokes, I just come here to read other people's thoughts. I go through phases where I post a lot, don't post a lot. I think that goes for a lot of people here. I just have trouble posting my views on topics that seem to be covered before. I love debate, but I love new, educational debate even more.
I also enjoy how more and more bf2s regulars are starting to post in the D&ST section! Its not the same old CP/Serge vs. ATG/Lowing. I created a forum account specifically to debate here after reading, hopefully more do the same!
Well, what's the difference between that and just having a thread saying.. here are our regulars . I think votes are a necessity behind the Hall of Fame concept. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings but a hall of fame should not be all inclusive (pointless). Candidates in my opinion should be chosen by their peers. The categories (or lack of) are open for restructure. Perhaps "Best constructed Opening post" etc.. We could completely level the member categories as well and just pick an amount we would like to have in there to start (10,15,25 ?). I want to give members a goal to shoot for. The way it is right now leaves a good amount of room for improvement. Keep the ideas coming.sergeriver wrote:

It's whatever you guys would like. I think this idea will only help to promote quality content in this section of the forum and encourage involvement.

Involvement, yeppers, that is what makes it good/better, and I got my one objection/criticism utterly invalidated already! I wanted more mods in D&ST who actually participated in D&ST. And by no petition of my own it happened anyway. Co-inc-ee-dink.Kmarion wrote:

Not entirely sure of that Kmarion, sorry to say but threads that doesn`t involve school shootings, terrorists or Bashing Bush will have a hard time reaching the hall of fame and frankly i`m sick of debating the variations of those 3 subjects.Kmarion wrote:

I`ve seen many potentially great threads die because nobody cares enough about other very important issues
Sorry to say that but it looks so damn shallow and imho is a stain on the DST section !

I wasn't trying to self nominate as an attention whore, just making a dumb joke.
Anyhow - too much feedback on the topic.
It's fairly simple really - put someone in charge who wants to do this. Let them decide their criteria, and let them do it as much or little as they want. People bitch, the criteria changes...but that's they way it works.
I want to earn my way in ---> all you freeloaders are tainted.
How about me and ATG bang heads together on future additions to the Hall of Fame? I'd be an advocate of keeping it special (an addition once a month or bevery two months with candidates having to meet strict criteria defined by me & ATG), not turning it simply into a list of regulars and additions being based on meritorious effort.
