Alright so my mic just won't work.

I can record sound in windows sound recorder and I can play it back fine but the mic won't work with anything gaming--> bf2, xfire, ts or vent.

I'll show you my xfire settings and what I think is the problem...

Here are my settings:

I believe that the AK5370 is my mic, the only problem is that I can only select it for input and NOT output.

When I select AK5370 for my input I can hear my voice talking into the mic through my speakers so to my knowledge I just need to get that into the output.

Like I said, my mic works in windows apps, just not in any other apps.

When I do a mic test--> The light stays red even when I talk

So does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

you might have to check the setting in your device manager seeing that it is a usb, try hooking it up to your audio card in the back

And aren't my speakers hooked up to my audio card?  Does my audio card even have a usb on it?

This has been posted before. Apparently BF2 doesn't like USB mics. I'll try to find the other thread and post a link.

I think the AK5370 is the mic but I honestly don't know; I'm not very good with computers

If you do a google search for AK5370, it turns up some logitech mic pages. So it seems that is your mic.

Just re-read this line. Since its just a stand-up mic (or at least the one you linked to is), then you can't select it for output. All output is just piped through your speakers like normal.

I use the Logitech Deluxe USB headset and haven't had any problems.  In fact I know at least 4-5 players who use USB without any problems.
