Every country every where has had there moement in the sun at some point and was the greatest of there time. I belive the war would not have won if it wasnt for every one pulling together i dont belive one sole country won it. It was a united victory.

I think the US has alot of responsibility for winning WW2, but not as much as they would like to think. No disrespect of couirse

WWII can be classified by the two theatres the war was fought in, Pacific and European. Hands down it was the United States that was responsible for winning the war against Japan. Russia only fought against the Japanese in Manchuria after victory was all but assured. With the dropping of Fat Man and Little Boy on Hiroshima and Nagasaki the war came to an ubrupt end and ushered in the Atomic Age.
In the European theatre it was much more of a combined effort with heavy prices paid by the British, Russians, and many others. Eventhough the United States didn't enter the war until 1941 they nonetheless played a key role in arming the other allies with much needed war goods. In this theatre it was probably the Russians and the British that paid the highest cost. The Russians in terms of the 20 million dead they suffered throughout the war and stopping the Nazi's on the Eastern Front, and the British for stopping the Axis in The Battle of Britain and showing the world that they would not go quietly. All in all it wasn't just one country that won the European war but a group of countries working together towards a common goal that won WWII. Yes every European country with the exception of France had a stake in victory.

Germany lost the war in Russia, not in France. The US were far more influential in supplying arms / food than their military contribution.
