Wow, thats messed up..

I was in Automotive class when I heard about, we went to the TV and turned on CNN and there it was..

Kind of sad that they didn't shut down the campus after the first two shootings, could have saved alot of lifes.

The cops are definitley going to make covering their own asses first priority. After that, the school officials will attempt the same. And so it goes.

Wow.. just wow.

Edit.

Oh yes lets bash the cops, because everybody here is a Certified police officer and works in Virginia so we know exactly what happens especially when it is reported on CNN.

I'm just saying, is it really worth it?

American people are too apathetic to ever band together and start a revolution.
The days are over when there was a real need for a citizen militia, despite groups like the Minuteman project, who are really only giving gun owners a bad name.

It's about cost/benefit.

The cost of the peoples right to keep and bear arms has simply reached critical mass and now outweighs the good.

No, obviously being the family member of a victim would change everything.

Maybe you missunderstood; I'm suggesting the 32 or so people would be alive, should be alive, if he didn't have a set of high cap 9mm pistols.

Obviously, I'm saying the time has come to thoughtfully look at gun ownership rights in America.

Why is that an asshole comment?

It's my first day here, sheesh, you guys are brutal.

You could just tell by the press conference that they (VT president and police) know they are in deep shit!!

They're shoddy ability to protect students is evident, and I am pissed!  They dropped the ball pure and simple, and more lives were lost as a result!

The first two killings are one thing, no one could have really prevented that. . . .But the slaughter that ensued could have been completely avoided!!!!

I couldnt be more sorry for the families!! But I am steaming mad at the authorities

so it was the guns fault, the guns got out their case, loaded themselves up and began this horrific event

After the Oklahoma Bombing were you a person to scream " Outlaw fertilizer"

outlawing guns will only take them out of the hands of the lawful and open the grounds to more crime across America

Wow, what is going on? The incidents were 2 hours apart, so he went and killed some people then came back and killed some more. Thank fuck he's dead now but i can't imagine how that happened, unless there was a number of gunmen.
That would be similar to the Port Arthur Massacre, in which Martin Bryant killed 35 people. He initially killed 2 people in the morning to get access to the house. It was later, after lunch that he committed the rest of the massacare.

It was this incident that caused Australian gun laws to be reviewed and changed. Maybe it's time for American gun laws to be changed too.

So your saying that the lawful can't snap and go on the rampage?

To be honest I really don't know what the states can do about guns, its so ingrained into the US mentality the right to bare arms and I can't really comment on it because I am from England where it inst the Normal to have firearms and after the Ban on most guns over here it didn't make a blind bit of difference to most people, but banning guns in the US like the UK, no I don't think it would work.

But if we say nothing should be done about these terrible events, then I can see more happening.

But what to do for your country, now thats the hardest question.

Guns don't kill people, people do, I get it.

People with guns kill much more efficiently, that's all I'm saying.

Who hunts with a 9mm pistol?
Who would want to live in a soceity where periodically there are mass killings?

When was the last mass shooting in England?

Seriously man, it's not the guns. It's the culture. Remove all guns from this society, the wackos will just build pipe bombs. Someone disturbed enough and motivated enough to kill this many people in one shot will find a way to get it done if they have to stab people with a spork to do it.

13th March 1996 Dunblane, granted it was in Scotland but I assume you meant Britain.

When i first heard about this tragedy i was completely stunned.  I think we should stop worrying about the legality of firearms here in the states and mourn over the loss of 32 innocent people who were violently slain at the hands of a psychopath.

The response to this was to pass a law basically outlawing handgun ownership in Britain. Before it was legal to own such weapons, and there was a massacre. We then banned them and there haven't been any.

We learnt from our mistakes. Will america?
