CBS Radio are a bunch of idiots. Imus will quickly sign on with another station and make more money and blow CBS Radio's replacement for him out of the water.

Over-reaction and mass histeria 101. Bad business. Bad judgement. Double Standards in Racism. Just fucked up all around. A real outrage.

Only people who are gonna lose here are CBS and the sponsors who bailed on Imus. I've listened to him enough to know that he makes fun of everybody and is not a racist. To take a joke he made (based on black hip-hop culture) and make him out to be a racist is insults the intelligence of moderate americans everywhere. Where does the hipocracy end?!?!?!

He was bringing in over 20 million in revenue, they started to jump ship. They do not want to lose their sponsors. CBS was looking at the bottom line, not the "Moral high ground".

that's my point. they will wind up losing money on this because there's only two big name morning show radio personalities: Howard Stern and Don Imus. And somehow they managed to lose both. you can't replace guys like this...and this whole thing would have blown over really quickly cause people see right through the sharpton/jackson agenda.

Imus made a huge mistake... It was not what he said about the girls to begin with, even though it was wrong. His biggest mistake was talking to that snake oil salesman, slick backed hair, POS al on live TV. (I refuse to capitalize his name.

He should have ignored this man at all costs.

What he should have done, was fly to Rutgers ASAP and apologize to those girls personally. Thats all he needed to do. It did not need to be broadcast with al, since being the good reverend (pun) he is, he could not find it in his cold dark hart (no pun intended) to forgive any one. After all, just look at those boys from Duke U.

Al needs to get his f'ing nose out of what not his business. I am sick of his divisiveness that is one of the biggest reasons there is a race problem in north America.

I'm so sick of hearing about this little incident, it wasn't racist in my view & CBS will be the biggest losers.
He exercised his right of free speech as well did the other parties involved. Are there no nappy headed white people?no. Are all black women hoes?no. So then why is this seen as racist unless you yourself are racist.
The sponsors pulled their support as they have a right to do & the job fired him as they have a right to do.
That's the end of it other than him apologizing to the young girls.

Not that I agree with what rappers say (certainly I don't agree with the misogyny, etc.), but I'd expect MSNBC and CBS to have better standards than say...50 Cent or the Ying Yang Twins.
