Your seeing it all wrong (of course IMO). In art you simply expose the absurdity, the problem, the ignorance, the absurdity/idea does need to be denounced, it denounces itself. It should not be watered down at all. If someone cannot see the reality of it; that is their fault. To water it down makes the character analysis - invalid and in-authentic. Exposure is a form of social commentary.

Even though this is a film people feel like this in the real world, so lets take it him as a real person (Edward nortan) if he felt that way its up to him, hes angry yeah but its his oppinion. Basically he said fuck everyone (except the Irish) nothing wrong with that.
The movies is restricted to adult viewing and we are all old and grown up enough to know that it wasn't real and only a god dam movie.
