no matter how shitty the patches get, its a must you download them to keep up with the servers and majority of other bf2 players.

its pretty much a must for competitive play/tourny play, or some good ol' ranked matches
Literally 98% of the ranked servers update with the new patches so if you want to play ranked, you'd better patch.
Yeah, otherwise I would still be at like 1.2
