Avantek’s Recon guide.
Anti-Personnel Mine:
1st Unlock
Amount: 2
Range: short
Damage: 100% infantry
APM also referred by some players as a “claymore” is a weapon that set to detonate whenever its motion detectors detect movement. This is a useful tool in defending strategic objects (flags, missile silos, titan) but it also can be used as a highly lethal assault weapon. Put them down in places where they can’t be easily seen (corners, entrances, ladders, titan corridors stair cases, ventilation hubs) those are places where the enemy usually rushes in for an assault and has little time to pay attention to detail. The only way it will work is when the front side is facing the right way otherwise it will not blow up. This mine can be defused with an AE Defuser as well as destroyed by the Zeller sniper rifle and RDX packs. You can pick them up by aiming at them and pressing G.
-Defending flags/ missile silos, vantage points.
This something you should do before you leave the area is secure it with APM-mines otherwise the control point will be overtakes in a couple of seconds after you leave the perimeter. Put them down so that they are not to close to each other and cover a large area my suggestion is to place them on the opposite corners of the missile launch pad or by the silo control panel (where most people try to hide from the enemy). As for flags in conquest mode each site has it specific features that help you hide your APM’s always look for corners, crates, bushes or other objects that are in range that’s where the enemy usually tries to hide. While being a sniper you should make sure to secure any possible entrances stair cases ladders because when you are sniping you have no time to look behind your back to check for enemy forces and you are an easy target for those dog tag collectors.
-Defending the titan.
In order to successfully defend the titan you need someone to supply you with those mines since you can only carry two at a time. Put them down at entrances to corridors, or at the ventilation hubs where the enemy usually drops down and cant sneak past the mine because once he hits the ground it triggers the explosion. Do not places two mines close to each other it will not help because once one mine explodes the other explode with it. Make sure to space them at least 12 feet away from each other even though the explosion radius is quite small the falling body of your victim will trigger the other mine. While defending the titan core don’t bother hiding your mines even in a place where it can be easily seen the enemy has no time to defuse them otherwise you can use your weapons shoot there heads off.
-Mines as an offensive weapon.
You can use your mines to attack the enemy put them down near spawn points or sneak up on the enemy and leave it behind them while there not paying attention. When you spot an enemy squad beacon use your mines to kill all the enemy forces podding down from the sky once they hit the ground there dead. Use these to attack the enemy titan. Put them down in the ventilation hub because the defending forces can only enter it the same way as you do. When attacking a corridor put one down at the entrance and then try to run as far as you can intro the corridor maybe bunny hop a bit and put one down right before you die. You are able to throw them while you’re jumping. The enemy in there confusion probably wont notice the gift you left them and you might end up killing all the defenders once you respawn you can repeat this move or if you already taken them out go ahead and destroy the corridor. To destroy the console you may use a combination of one APM and two RAX packs or two APM’s and one RDX pack.
DysTek Hi-Scope x4:
2nd Unlock
Amount: 1
Range: ultra long
Damage: none
This is not a weapon itself but an enhancement to all your sniper rifles. It gives you the ability to zoom in and out on enemy forces. It does not increase the range of your weapon only makes it easier to aim. This add-on equips itself automatically to all of the sniper rifles in the game, and does not take up any slot of your inventory. Its basically something to help you aim at enemy forces.
Gruber 5 Stabilizer:
3rd Unlock
Amount: 1
Range: long
Damage: none
This is another enhancement to the sniper rifle it stabilizes your scope for a short period of time about five seconds and reduces the breathe motion. This unlock does take up one of your slots and I don’t recommend using it since the breathe motion on sniper rifles is predictable and user learns to adjust to it in a short period of time. It stabilizes for about three seconds after that it needs to recharge itself.
Zeller-H Advanced Sniper Rifle:
4th Unlock
Amount: 30 bullets.
Reload time: 5 seconds
Range: medium-long
Damage: 60%-100% infantry
This sniper rifle is a very accurate weapon but is useless at short range combat. You get three bullets per magazine and you get ten magazines. As all sniper rifles its most affective when you aim for the head one shot one kill. If you know your opponent is already damaged you can aim for any par of the body you can hit to kill. It takes two or one shot to kill any type of infantry. Any opponent wearing light body armor can be taken down by one shot. You can shoot enemies in light vehicles when you can see them also that are sitting in ground defenses and anti aircrafts sites. Do not shoot vehicles with this rifle it will do no damage. You can use it to detonate explosive devices such as RDX packs and all mines as well as squad leader upgrades.
RDX DemoPacks:
1st Unlock
Amount: 5
Range: short
Damage: 100% infantry 100% light vehicle 50% armor 33% battlewalker/APC 90% air vehicles
RDX also referred by some players as a “C4” is a very multi functional remote detonated explosive. This explosive can destroy any enemy type on the battlefield it’s very multifunctional. You can use these for defense as well as for assault unlike with APM-mines you decide on when to blow them up with your remote control. Pick them up by aiming at them and pressing G.
-Defending flags/ missile silos
Put the RDX packs near these location to get kills you can move away from the area and refer to the mini-map to see if the site is being neutralized once its neutralized and your packs are laid in the right places you will kill the enemy from any distance with the remote control.
-Defending the titan
You will also need someone to resupply you put your mines near entrees to corridors ventilation hubs. Make sure you see the see the area where you place the explosive device and when you see an enemy entering detonate it and get the kill.
-Attacking titan
RDX packs can be used to attack the titan and destroy enemy control panels and the titan core itself. When assaulting the titan you may sue these to destroy enemy traps such as mines or RDX packs simply throw in you pack near the enemy explosive and detonate it along with the others. To destroy a console you will need three RDX packs and to destroy a titan core you will need about 30 packs.
-Destroying Commander assets.
Use two RDX packs per assets to destroy them this will certainly immobilize the enemy commander and most likely he will deploy a supply drop to fix them once he does that you can resupply yourself and destroy them again.
-Destroying vehicles
You can use these to destroy any type of enemy vehicle simply place the RDX packs on the vehicle itself or on the ground next to it. You can also use it as a trap place the packs on the ground where you know a vehicle will most certainly pass thought and where they can’t be seen and wait when you see a vehicle driving by your explosives detonate them and get the kill.
-Kamikaze
You can place your RDX pack on your own vehicle and drive it into enemy forces or tanks jump out and detonate them with the vehicle. You can also do this with a squad leader drone when friendly fire on the server is off. Place packs on the drone and walk up to an enemy and detonate the packs near him you will get the kill and most of the time you willl end up flying up make sure to open your parachute.
NetBat Fade Delay
2nd Unlock
Amount: 1
Range: short-medium
Damage: none
When you are in a squad and somebody sees an enemy soldier, a diamond shape is overplayed on that soldier's chest (or if they spot a vehicle that is occupied by the enemy, the diamond is displayed on the center of the vehicle). With this unlock the diamond overlay will stay for longer, making it much harder for the enemy to escape from your squad. In effect, you will often see enemies around walls, and moving or getting into position behind them. It does not take up a slot in your inventory and its equipped automatically. When you are shot at and hit, you stay cloaked, there are no distortions or anything. The person shooting at you will get a hit indicator though and you can bet he will keep firing. So you can't stay cloaked while holding another item other than the IT-33 and you can't stay cloaked while climbing ladders. Another drawback is that if you are currently cloaked and switch immediately to another item, the blur effect applied to your vision when cloaked will take longer to diminish, so it's a wise idea to make sure you uncloak first if you want a clear view. Another bad thing about this is that once you are hit with and EMP the clocking device will turn your body pink and you will be the easiest thing to see on the battlefield. The IT-33 gives you a heat bar in the lower right corner, that slowly fills if you keep being cloaked. It will overheat if it gets full and not work for about 2 seconds. How long it takes is not yet fully clear, but its somewhere between 30 and 90 seconds. You can use it as often as you like to. While being cloaked you are not completely invisible. There are some distortions where you are. If you stand in the dark, it's pretty much impossible to see you, even close up. If you stand further away its also very hard to see you. Everything below 30 meters though, you can be seen if someone looks closely in your direction. Although, in the heat of battle, if you do not run directly frontal at somebody, you will mostly likely not be detected.
IT-33
3rd unlock
Amount: 1
Range: none
Damge: none
Makes you invincible for a short period of time while you are invincible you have to hold down the button on th remote to stay invincible you can not use other weapons otherwise you will become visible again. At close range you can be seen quite easily but at long distances your are practically invincible. At short distances when you appear next to some background texture you can see the haze, and also you can hear the humming sound of the device. So I don't recommend using this at close ranges the enemy will hear you and shoot you. If you want to use this to sneak up on someone turn if off like 12 feet before you reach you target. While turning the device off you can hear a highly pitch sound which can be heard by the enemy at medium to close range and might alarm them and make them turn around and shoot you.

You get six clips with 30 bullets each. Since all other Recon weapons are sniper rifles, this is for the close quarter combat fighters. Direct assaults are possible, but its strength is clearly below that of Assault class rifles. This is a very good weapon and it will get you some kills.
