I have heard the word "ho" on many radio stations and TV shows just by flipping thru the channels.

Simple fact is although the guy is a tool, he should be covered under the same speech rights as anyone else on TV or radio.
Sure, a ho is a term for a whore. If a chick on My Name Is Earl is an actual prostitute, that makes sense.

These were women playing basketball for a black college, and they were't called ho's. They were called nappy ho's.

Nappy meaning BLACK. Ho's meaning they are all whores.  So on national television he called the whole team Black Whores.

Maybe Collegiate Black Whores would have been better.
Rutgers is a black college?

Nappy meaning cornrolls and prison tats IMO.

See, we can't agree on what it means either.
Alright. I tried.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have a conspiracy against Imus. I give in. Kill whitey.

Exactly, if Imus was making Irish small penis jokes, I doubt he would have chimed in.

Exactly.  In our society, minorities may insult each other and/or anyone else but when an old white guy says something it's time to fire him. The double standard is quite ridiculous.

Come on, they were showing this shit all over cnn yesterday. I don't consider this news worthy especially what 6 days after the fact? {this has been said all ready} Nappy & hoes doesn't equal racist , he was questioning the fact that they didn't comb their hair & that they were easy women or sold themselves for money. No where in there does it say anything about race. Instead of the black community being all up in arms about this, how about not supporting governmental programs that reward for being a certain type of race. Why are there no calls to Al sharpton on this one, because he supports it, that's right he supports racism, what a vicious circle.

Never saw Al or Jesse call for ESPN to fire Irvin for his remarks.

Im not familiar with that. But it sounds like he was impressed by Romo and commented that he must have African American heritage. So in short, he said White men cant jump. So this is where you come in.

Instead of jacking off about how Imus is the fall guy for Sharpton, get off the couch and make a stink about how Michael Irvin is rascist.

On another note, it was a complement though he did shit on white people. He didn't say "Damn that cracker ass honkey can play ball!"

Either way, I said I concede.

Imus is still a big fucking asshat regardless wether this happened at all.

I know Imus is an asshat, but I think the bigger issue is who the fuck are Al or Jesse to say anything?

See, it isn't racist to you because a black guy said it.  Kind of odd.

And I do not find it offensive, but these guys should be fair if they are going to be offended so easily.

Wow. I conceded the debate to you, yet your not finished.

What Michael Irvin said was racist. I agree. So your pissed Jesse Jackson and Al weren't on his case?

So your WHOLE point is that Al and Jesse are racist?

Honestly, you don't see the problem with calling black women nappy ho's on the air?

Its a hell of alot more hateful than saying Romo plays like a black man. Then its racists to say a black guy plays sports better than a white man. Granted 75% of the NFL and 99% of the NBA is black.

Whatever.

Im a cracker ass honkey by the way who grew up in a ghetto you fockers only see in movies. You can't tell me anything about black/white relations sitting in the suburbs.

I think you're a good guy, but throwing 'redneck' around doesn't help yer case. I personally don't get butthurt over it, but if it's not 'cool' to say 'fag' or any other words potentially offensive to a group, then people shouldn't be able to use redneck in that context either.

If you look at anything on Youtube pertaining to race, you see a lot of 'White ass' 'Redneck' and 'Cracker' comments. Especially on video comments pertaining to the recent 'Imus' scandal. It's pretty hypocritical, but I'll stop here before someone breaks my balls for being "paranoid about Whites being oppressed" again. (Which I'm not, I'm merely able to see contradictions such as this.)

No self respecting Southern gentleman would buy that CD, haha.

I agree with the "nappy headed ho's" not being racist. Still, it had to be offensive to the girls playing. What I would consider racist is the 'Jiggaboo' comment, as I've only heard that word used in a derogatory context.

I like Imus, and his show though, and hope that it doesn't get removed, 'cos it gives me something funny to watch when I'm still up at 7 am.

When rappers and other black people can stop calling themselves the n word, maybe we will too. It's a double standard.

Don't say they can call themselves it. I'm jewish in my blood and that's like me calling a jewish friend of mine a kike. In no way is that appropriate.

Not that I am defending anyone here because I hate womens basketball and Don Imus, but Imus isn't exactly the poster face for Vidal Sasoon. He has a fro and he is white, a rareity. So what we have is a crusty old grouchy white guy with a fro making fun of a bunch of testosterone overloaded women who contribute to the wasting of prime time TV playing a sport nobody gives a shit about. Yawn. Let it be. Two negatives should cancel themselves out and we should all go back to hating Jews and Hillary Clinton.

After a career of cranky insults, radio star Don Imus was fighting for his job Monday following one joke that by his own admission went “way too far.”

CBS Radio and MSNBC both said they were suspending Imus’ morning talk show for two weeks following his reference last week to members of the Rutgers women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hos.”

What he said...

I'm not offended by him, he is a talentless schluck (IMO). He did "wrong" in the context in which he thrives. If you or said what he said, who would care? If Howard Stern said what he said, who would care?
