what's a ladder kill?

I_invented_BF2: DICE/EA spokesman; +19|6686|denmark

I was a commander and climbing a ladder on karkand. It was inf only, so no arty. all the sudden it says myname [ladder] enemyname..

how the hell did I kill someone while being on the ladder far from the nearest enemy???

Had you recently fired artillery? Perhaps a claymore you'd set down had killed someone.
That's my guess, anyway!

same as surgeon and when you climb the ladder and an enemy is following you he can't stand the smell from you and die while he is in the ladder

I think it's when you either do what surgeon said,or change the localisation files so it says what you want it to say.

i just had a thought..u know when u move past a team mate and lose a bit of health for no reason (or do u, or does it just give u that weird damage direction indicator ..i aint played vanilla for a while tbh)

could u kill an enemy doing the same thing?

Like I said - there was no arty available since it was an "inf only" server. It wasn't because of a claymore either. First of all it said [ladder] and not [claymore]. second of all i never user the sniper kit. I was support.

I wasn't ramming anyone either. I was the only soldier - friend or foe - anywhere near. And I haven't changed the localisation files..

The only way is if one of your weapons kills a person while you're climbing a ladder. Perhaps you'd thrown a grenade, then jumped onto the ladder? That would probably do it.

Also: Never use the sniper kit? What's your most played kit under your stats?

I meant: never used, and not : never using..

I never used the sniper kit in that round - therefore no claymore. the ladder were the highest one of the two chimneys next to MEC uncap on karkand. therefore a hand granate would detonate long before I would get almost to the top (where the kill-text appeared).
