I've seen this video before. The thing I wondered then and I wonder now is: why? why were they shooting that house up? they didn't seem to be facing very much resistance from the residents.
Those soldiers seemed very poorly trained and disciplined. I know they are in a war and all but still..
Easy to judge from behind a monitor. Looked like mission accomplished to me.Vilham wrote:

Yeah, I agree but then again many troops over there do not see combat. It was probably their first time in a life or death situation. I would have been the same way (does anyone else have the balls to say that?) even though I'm always playing airsoft where we pretend to be in these sort of situations and are never in danger of getting seriously hurt we still know how to cover each other and "live" with great efficienty.Vilham wrote:

Seemed like they pulled it off incredible badly, it seems to me the solution to poorly trained people is bomb shit from a distance, which is the reason why there has been so much blue on blue and civilian casualty's.Kmarion wrote:

I agree but the purpose of training is to help with that. Good training will over come those obstacles. My main point was a complete lack of leadership there, they were just like "shit what we gunna do".Pernicious544 wrote:

If it was incredibly bad they would have been dead. They were in a unique situation, stuck on a roof with the enemy downstairs. They successfully cleared them from the roof down and descended safely through a winding stairway. Yea, incredibly bad. The one soldier started to go down before they knew they were cleared but he was quickly corrected.Vilham wrote:

I'm not Arabic; but I've studied it some. I know what you're thinking but Akhbar is pronounced differently than the word "aHmar"-which is red in Arabic. Akhbar has a more hacking from the back of the throat "ka" sound while Ahmar stresses the "H" sound.CoronadoSEAL wrote:

The word "allah" also has a unique pronunciation when done correctly. The "hamza" character used for the word to give it the "Ah" sound is pronounced gutturally from the back of the throat. To the western ear it almost sounds like a gagging sound.
Of course, just like in any language, they have proper pronunciation and everyday common pronunciation which can sound a little different as well as regional accents and dialects. I mostly have studied MSA (modern standard arabic) and Egyptian Arabic- which is quite distinct from Iraqi pronunciation.
Anyway, sorry to ramble on. Hope this helps answer your question a little.
