Hola,

Was looking around currys today, and couldnt help but notice how drastically the prices of these LCD and plasma Tv's have dropped, as such I am thinkin of replacing my tired old CRT 32'' JVC with one.

So can anyone reccomend one, about 40'' for around the £1100-£1400 mark

The criteria I have though is:

Supports 1080P signals
2x HDMI (or more)
1920 x 1080
2 Scarts (or more)

Ummm contrast I know less of, though been told to steer clear of anything sub 1000:1

I found one pretty quickly that meets this and I think looks a great buy for what it is

Though more suggestions would be greatly appreicated

Just get that Samsung one. It looks very nice.

1080P
High contrast ratio (which Samsungs S-PVA panels are renowned for)
10-bit per channel colour (better than the typical 8 or even 6)
Also, LCDs are better than Plasmas. It is more difficult to make high quality big LCDs, but recently the standard of big LCDs has increased dramatically, with companies like Samsung and Sharp pioneering these new big LCDs.

Get it.

Follow up query.  A guy in my clan recently bought

To go with his PS3 which he got the previous week at european launch.  My question is, why is that sony SOOOOOOOOOOO much more expensive?  Is it any better (doesnt appear to be)?  Or, is that just sonys brand mark up to justify the price :S?

Thanks

I have an uncle that has a Samsung very similar to the one you posted and he loves it. IMO, go for it.

Rephrase then, why is it, on average I see the samsung one for about the £1300 mark, and the cheapest I have seen the sony is, £1700 give or take a few quid.
