Haha. Yeah. I do remember the tanks and the weapons. Not the most beautiful weapons.

I think that I can thank my 3.0ghz processor for the survival.

Yes and looking so much forward to it.
Oh my goodness, 512 MB and a 5200 - are you sure you were playing BF2 and not some Tetris?
1.5 GB is not 512 MB.. It's like 1536 MB.

On my very first computer (emachines) I had a 32mb on-board Savage 3 video chip. Soon after I got an MX440 64mb AGP. Then after that I got an FX5200 Ultra 128mb, then a nVidia Ti4600 128mb (way better than the FX5200, but doesn't play BF2 cause it's too old ), then an ATi 9600 Pro 128mb, and then my Sapphire X800GTO 256mb.

My next will be a PCI-e Sapphire X1950PRO 256mb (unless I see a better deal ... can't beat the price on this card. )

Well, good luck with your new card. I know how it feels to go from low settings at 10FPS to all-high at 70FPS.

Tomorrow will be a lovely day. My computer store has finally got my grahics card. A beautiful x1950 pro 512.
Tomorrow they will put it in with a 1 gig of ram. Buy buy to the long loading times and the horrible graphics made by my 5200fx.

Went from that to a 7800GTX. It brought a small tear to my eye when i saw BF2 would actuall load, let alone play a map...

On topic, why didn't you get an 8800? Or is the price gap between the X1950pro and 320mb 8800GTS bigger then I think it is?

Hah, quite a list there. Maybe you should spend a little extra money and buy a graphics card from a good company like BFG, etc. and stop wasting money/time on the worthless ones you mentioned. Just a thought.

Yeah, powercolor is pretty dodgy. I got the two screwed X850s from them, and when I got my X1900, the PCB had (and still has) a large bend in it. Also, the PCI bracket was so twisted that it wouldn't fit in against the back of the case, and I had to take a pair of pliers to it to straighten it out. And this is a brand new $550 card.
