Thank You ATG, those links have a bit more meat. I still think this is BS though. We are stretched too thin to take on a country like Iran. An attack on Iran would throw the US in revolt, people are sick of Iraq and a war with Iran would be 2x as bad, the draft would have to be reinstated, hell I think they canned a General for even bringing up the draft a year back.

Edit: I think this is one of those war games, we have plans to attack almost every country on earth, It probly got up dated and was broadcasted to theater commanders

btw, here's is some non-crackpot corroborating links.

ATG none of those have anything to do with "Operation Bite". We have already discussed the "Plans". It would take the Pentagon at least 3-4 months to develop any kind of real strategy for Iran. I'm pretty sure there are plans drawn up for even the most unlikely scenario already. Iran just had a major victory and have now come off as both compassionate and strong. The EU could have taken it to the next level and put a strain on the already hurting economy of Iran. Iran imports 40 percent of it's goods from the EU. Don't completely toss out the effectiveness of sanctions/trade restrictions. Ahmadinejad might think they can stay isolated from the world indefinitely, but his country's unemployment and inflation will eventually think differently.

The only thing that makes me want to believe it is that Russian guy, he seems legit although I'm not sure if there's any proof that he actually said that. If this worked out it would be like this (USE YOUR IMAGINATION, I'M USING MINE HERE):

The surge was just a fake move to put troops in Iraq but really Bush wants to attack Iran on the side. The aerial attack would take out Iran and then the troops would move in.

That's the only way that I see this coming true...I would slap myself 20 times if that came true

I don't trust any Russian that is a General(IE corrupt). The logistics for an operation like that would be gigantic, you can't just have the units in Iraq stop what their doing and make a mad dash for Iran. It takes tonnes on food ,ammo, etc. to supply 1 division for week.

Edit: When my unit left for Iraq it took about 6mo of planning and coordination. That's for a Battalion.

An attack on Iran by any other name then?

That the operation is planned, mmm hmmn.

Well I don't think that the U.S. would be planning on anything after this supposed operation. That Russian guys says that the US wants to postpone any further Iranian improvements in nuclear warfare. Bombing 20 sites for 12 straight hours should do the trick. Besides, what does Iran have? Mig-21s still? But anyway, I don't know how Bush would think he would get away with this even if the Russians didn't find this. If this does happen you all have to kiss my feet but if it doesn't well...I'm just a patsy.

Honestly who really can say in the long run. But I can say anyone who believes that a mass sneak attack by the United States is going to happen really has no idea on how our government works. (I point to what is currently happening in Congress and war funding). Remember who ultimately sends us to war, who the majority in congress is, and what must happen to approve military force. I would hope after the last conflict Americans have a clearer understanding of what an immediate threat is.

If this does happen both my roommate and I would be recalled and my ass would be stuck in the desert again. Don't get me wrong, I am very pro American, but I would be in Canada. The world would not go along with it, the EU, the UN and everybody would impose sanction on us.

Ah yes the whole Congress and war funds, Bush seems to be alone when he wanted to veto any of Congress's anti war decisions.

There is a rather large difference in starting a war and not providing the funds needed to support your troops when they are already in front of bullets.

Hey man, understandable. The only way that I'll go to war would be via WWIII b/c the cause would be worthwhile but the War on Terror just goes against some of my ideas. I support the troops but not how Bush is going through with this and I feel bad for all the guys who have to go through this Surge just to get the popular vote of the civilians in the middle east. I've thought about joining honestly I have but not for a full time arrangement which is maybe why I'm so wrapped up in this whole "Operation Bite" thing.

We should do what we did a decade or two ago and sink their entire Navy, and then top it off by blowing up their Nuke facilities.

But see then the entire world would be against us. Don't get me wrong, fufilling the 2012 Aztec prophecy about the end of the world is definately on the top of my list but...

Well sarcasm aside, the next war I could see the entire world against us. Britain could try to help but if nukes are involved, well, 40 years ago Russia could have wiped half of the U.K. off the physical face of the map. That was about 40 years ago, I'm sure they can wipe the rest off now if they really wanted to especially when they're that close. China I see as the sleeping dragon (punintended) and of course they have close relations w/ Russia. Bush is just trying to break those relations to give him more breathing room in between the two but it's useless right now. This whole operation bite could be propaganda by the Russians to spark something against the US whether it exists or not. I think it's agreed that everyone is under the gentlemen's code here in the fact that no one wants to use nukes but when someone does, everyone else will.

I can see California being the first state to be hit by a nuclear missile from either China or Russia. Either way it doesn't really matter to me, if WWIII does come by anytime soon I'd enlist voluntarily but a frightening fact to me is that one nuke to Washington D.C. could wipe out my town and we're about in the middle of pennsylvania.

Castro's form of Communism is not the hard line of old, Saddam's time was coming, we just helped it along, And the whole Bush thing is BS, he has a hostile congress holding him in check along with the public, at the beginning of the Iraq war majority of the US public supported it. Look at the whole US Attorney thing, they fired 6, when Reno took over she fired them all, Democrats like to make mountains out of mole hills.
