Hey guys,

I have recently been experiencing some problems with AVG av. It doesnt let me open up my control center or virus vault. But it does let me do a full scan.

Here is a Screenshot:

to view image, right click on it and click on "view image"

I did a google search but i didnt find a straight through answer...

All the help is appreciated and will be rewarded by karma.

Reinstall AVG?

Looks like Windows' arse is falling out of itself, maybe an WindowsUpdate would fix it.

Thanks for the reply. I did it but same results, i even cleaned out my registry, i guess the only thing to do is wait and see if Microsoft makes and update.

Well in the meantime switch to Avast or that free AOL one that runs on Kaspersky.

You possibly may have a rootkit. It may be trying to hide itself and is messing up user32.dll which is a windows file and has nothing to do with AVG.

If not then you could try to do a repair installation of windows, if that fails then a clean install of windows will sort things out.
