I'm under the assumption that their fear of the North is rising due to Krazy Kim beating his chest. It looks like the tank was designed perfectly to deal with the harsh terrain of the Korean penninsula.
Thats pretty sweet. I have a feeling that the US helped them a bit because they are close allies to us! By any means, South Korea is a cool place! I went there for a vacation once!
The underwater system seems a bit silly and impractical on the battlefield and the auto-loader is nice if you pray it never fails.
Other than that, everything looked like what a modern armored calvary should look like.

Well, as a South Korean, I have to say, that we still need to improve on our military power, but our land forces are one of the best, and the South Korea's army is the 6th best in the world. The tank you saw was either a K1a1 88tank, or the experimental K2 Black Panther. The K1a1 was nicknamed monster tank by the North Koreans.
