Anyone noticed the level of play on French servers is really bad? I take two steps and either a friendly transport lands on my head or a teammate shoots me. Even when they're not tking they seem to just stand around scratching their arses rather than cap flags

Depends...are you talking about "French" French or "French" Quebec? Because I played on server in Quebec and servers/players are pretty good.

I have to agree that french servers are generally bad, but if you manage to find a decent squad (I guess speaking a little french does help) its "teh pwnage"

No, I can't sign that. I play on servers all over Europe and there's absolutely no national difference. Beside the fact that any European with a decent internet connection can play in all countries and therefore "pure" matches are extremly exotic, I found good and bad servers and players everywhere.

Well, when playing on french servers there are always guys talking to me over VoIP. In french. I tell them that I don't speak french and ask them to speak english. Kindly. They don't care and keep on spamming in french. Then I kick them from the squad.

French - French are in fact pretty bad. But play against French - canadian and you will have a pretty good challenge. For german, is amazing how much server i got when i want to play in the after-noon (Eastern time) I get a lot of german server and there is also some pretty bad one, where u can't have any team play if u dont speak german... But there is also some very good one where player are more kind and very good too.
Now for US SERVERS... There are so many bad ones, knife pistol, or abusing admins. The level of player vary from one to an other but i usually get in the top 3 every rounds. There is also BFPro servers where you never get smacktard or claywhore. I like it.

Does it matter where the server is? As a Brit, living in the Netherlands I play on UK, French, Dutch, German and probably a whole load of other countries servers. On a French server there is probably at least 5 different nationalities at anyone time(when full) so saying that a French server has worse players than anywhere else is a bit naive.
