It's crap! Although, I think I'm going to start a company in trading Carbon Credits. It's a great way for guilty people to give you money. And all you have to do is hire some boy scouts to plant trees for you! Barnum was right.

It's a good idea, as a suplement to cutting emissions. It is not an alternative. First and foremost we must cut emissions, not pay to offload the responsibility onto someone else. Carbon offsetting can only get you so far.

At best It seems purely symbolic, like buying an indulgence. At the worst it seems pretty hypocritical.

I heard Al Gore owns at least one of these companies.
