Well if you are speaking of say liberal in one of the bastardised forms you used earlier, i.e., communist (!), and you seek to say associate it with the Democrat party in the US, then you are pretty far off the mark. Both parties in the US are right wing, neither is leftist. They are both far farther right wing than most parties you will find in Europe.
