Imaginative argument you have there.  I don't see why i should stay quiet when to have a simple night out i have to suffer through the stench of cigs and the awful gunk that clogs up my throat and causes throat pain the next morning.  Why should i suffer that because of the lifestyle choices of some people i don't know?

Not everyone is retarded that thinks being high is ok and guess what, some people don't even smoke it and think its ok. Weird shit huh? Until your robbed by a pothead, struck in a vehicle by a pothead, or shot by a pothead, lets assume all of them aren't retarded.
I've been high. And when you're high, you react like a retard, you make decisions like a retard, so essentially, you become one imo.
Yeah - I'm not that ignorant. I've tried tobacco, weed and alcohol. I just don't think it's good, and I think having tried them all gives me a slightly better insight.
The worst thing about them is that they're addictive...

How you react high, depends on the strain of the cannabis. You act like a retard when your drunk. Plain and simple.

Check out that video above. THat guy driving is high and seems to be ok. hmmmm...

As for the addictiveness.....another debate for another thread.

No, I don't smoke.  If I don't want to smell smoke, I don't go to the bar.  Duh.

Wow,how close are you to the smokers, are you sucking up the air 1 inch in front of them as they blow it out?

You shouldn't be feeling pain the next morning because you had a night out in the same room as a few smokers, there's something wrong there.

Perhaps see a doctor or something, maybe stay over half a metre away from smokers as they exhale.

As far as marijuana goes, I don't think anything that warps your perception at all should be legal.  No, not even booze.  Look at MOST of the drug busts that go on in the United States.  Most of them are found out when they're pulled over, in a car.  I've heard alot of you retards claiming that being high is okay, as long as you don't operate machinery or something.  Well you have no perception, whats stopping you from going out for a spin after a bowl?  Just your mind saying "No, thats a bad idea."  But wait, your baked.  Your going out anyway.  That being said, alcohol, and cannabis, should be made illegal, but I think it would be a bad idea.  Maybe the usage would go down if it was made legal, but I just don't see it happening.
Obviously you've never been high.

So lemme get this straight...you think we should make anything that warps your perception illegal, therefore expanding an already inflated contempt and disobeyance of the law (remember Prohibition?) and expanding an already massive black market?  On top of that, you think (I'm assuming) we should put these nonviolent offenders in jail, alongside murders, rapists, and molesters for violating this law?

The video doesn't show - it's been removed.
I'm against drinking excessively. I never said alcohol was good, or that people who drink heavily will act normal.
The addictiveness, I know, comes with anything you do excessively - but with drugs it comes a lot faster.

Actually, he's quite right. You don't have to be close to have that. I have gone out for 1 night before, and come back with my throat aching like shit, as if I had been shouting all night. I worked on a construction site for 2weeks as a summer job once, and even that was bad. We were outside, but they were smoking the whole day, and I was about 3-5m away most of the time - Same pain.

Nope.  They are usually scattered all over the room.

A few?  i guess you haven't been to a pub or nightclub up my neck of the woods it's got to be somewhere between 40-50% of the club smoke and when you consider night clubs can hold hundreds of people that's more than 'a few'.  Most of these people who smoke are chain smokers and have a new one in their hand as soon as their finished.

Perhaps he has allergies.  And if not in a smoky environment regularly, the smoke would bother most people because it's not something we're naturally supposed to be breathing.

Well next to the fact that it only causes damage to your body, some people find it relax to smoke a cigarrette. But IMO they should atleast be banned from indoor use, something that isn't done here in the Netherlands yet, out on the street I wouldn't care about it.

Well when 50% of people are smoking thats not a run of the mill pub.Least not nowadays.
I haven't really been to anywhere like that,i'll take your word for it on the pain.

Unfortunately it seems to be the norm in my town.  Only one bar is non smoking and understandably its always packed on an evening.

None of us dumbasses think it's healthy or cool to smoke...

If someone who smokes dies when they're 78 instead of 79 i doubt they'll care.

Yes it should be outlawed. I've seen and heard stories in my family about smoking addiction. My grandfather died of lung cancer from smoking, and my dad was a smoking addict until about 4 or 5 years ago. It's nothing pretty; my dad would go out in thunderstorms just to get a smoke. You could imagine that as an 8 year old I was scared for him.

People who say "if people want to screw themselves up, let them"... why do we outlaw other drugs then? Why do we outlaw ephedra?

I don't think cannabis is too good for you either. I doubt all the anti-weed stuff is some sort of conspiracy by "the man" to "put you down" as I've heard before.

Some of you may be missing some of the more prominent truths here. Some of you tards responding by saying "if you don't like it, gtfo" or some other ignorant shit like that really don't provide any type of logical argument at all.

One of the fundamental truths here is freedom...although I do believe people should have the freedom to do as they wish (within the acceptable, recognized social and legal limits) people do not have the right to do something that unnecessarily harms other people.  There are inarguable studies and facts (feel free to google) about second hand smoke...standing away from these people while they choose to smoke is not an acceptable solution.  Allowing them to partake in "smokers only" establishments is not a solution either...suicide, self termination, murder is not legal...smoking in it's most basic form is self termination by choosing to do something that everyone knows causes a number of life threatening conditions.

And then there is the economic factor.  Millions of tax dollars...my money and your money...is being spent every year to treat, care for, etc. an addiction that effects and kills more people than car accidents.  Cars and driving can be made safe by proper training...inhaling burning tar and chemicals cannot be made safe by any measure.

Yeah, I realize that there are a lot of things that can fall into these categories..."why doesn't the govenment make a big deal about them?  Why isn't other things 'attacked' as hard as smoking?"  The truth of the matter is they are...but smoking is in the spotlight, by the media, by the fact that it's numbers are to high to ignore...we as a people have got to start somewhere.

And just for the record, in my youth I smoked...I used pot and some other "stuff"...I grew up and saw the light...got smart.  People say pot is not as harmful as other drugs, as alcohol, etc. etc.  Pot is a "gateway drug"...that's why it will likely never be legal (in the US anyway).  You can slice it anyway you want but the fact of the matter is, if it alters nomal thinking / reflexes / thought processes, etc. they the user becomes a threat when they decide to do something stupid like drive a car...then it becomes my problem because I'm on the road with you.
