Yeah I just went through 5 clips of random shooting with Okabon and each time a jam, the Merc guns though lol, my new fav weapon. I just encounted the weirdest thing yet... it was a invisible creature, but it would flash and you could see its outline when it charged you.. this game gives me the creeps lol.
Bah, just drove 60 miles to the nearest store where I could buy it, got home, and it gives me an error screen when I try to open it after install.......probably my "awesome" Radeon x300 causing this.......
Do you have the latest drivers for your gfx card installed?! DirectX update?!
I have never been able to find ANY update drivers for the x300, and DirectX is at 9.0c.
The underground research labs are the most creepy parts I have ran into so far. At least there was some good ol' fashion zombie killing in the labs.
Are you talking about X18 LABS damn got nearly a heart attack there,MagiCandy wrote:

good there was a lot of buds in home and lights switched on, next time I'm playing in the dark ALONE
Its cool. Love that game, even when I was expecting a wee bit more after six years. And good that I've upgraded my PC because it runs OK on med specifications, but nothing amazing ... I need a new MB and CPU
I love you!iNeedUrFace4Soup wrote:

Seriously, if you never posted that, I probably would never of heard of a third Fallout.
I hope the gameplay in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is good, graphics don't make a game for me.
Ah FALLOUT 3.... but still need to wait, STALKER is very good but i,m missing freedom from FALLOUT oh and sadly there is no sign of RPG in the stalker ... no sorry there is RPG-7Macca wrote:

But still it has its atmosphere, i love it from beginning I was wee bit disappointed but further on gets better.
Let say that I cant wait to be back to home from work and play it... oh damn, the work right ...
Me too and, again, just in the early stages of the game.ShadowFoX wrote:
The rain graphic glitches happend ot me as well. However it seems to me that it only occurs in the first couple of areas. Once you get to the bar or so the rain graphic glitches dont seem to show up.
Well i found out my problem. Apparantly my video cards cant handle any dynamic lighting in stalker. i turned it to static lighting and fps doesnt go below 70 on maximum settings. Is this an Nvidia thing? Source engine HDR works but even HDR on objects enabled in this game and my fps goes back to teh teens... anyone else have this problem.
it's not nvidia only - I have the same problems, together with many other poor guys I guess they'll have to work it out somehow and release a patch but so far static lighting does the trick for me as well.<SS>SonderKommando wrote:

the game is fun tho I'm still a bit lost in the open space and I hope to find some better weapons soon! oh and a big + for the f2000! need to get my hands on that one
glad im not the only one... hope it does get patchedEboreus wrote:

Is there a quick save button. I'm constantly dying and loose much of my progress, just because I forget to save. Autosaves dont seem to happen often enough.
Maybe I should buy this game?
But how long does it take to complete?

About the rain artifact, I had the same happen to me, then I went and installed the newest Nvidia drivers and that fixed it for me. (I've got an 7900GT).
Also, the game runs just fine on my rig with everything on High (not Max), with an AMD 64 3200+ and 2 gigs of RAM.
And yes, the Okabon jams fucking all the time, but it's still a lovely weapon. I love this game.

There IS a quick save button, F7, but it is bugged. Your quicksaves won't load properly if your Windows Account name has a space in it. Weird, I know, but that's the way it is. My windows account has a space in it so quicksaving is useless. I wish a patch comes out soon fixing this.daffytag wrote:

I want them to fix that and and add a hotkey to load your last save after dieing, instead of having to load from teh main menu. Also i hope they work on teh hdr support....
I hope they fix the quest bugs... The damn "Kill bandits at carpack" messege wont go away!
quite a good game STALKER is.
Here is a tip: Make sure you pick up the "magical objects" (something like that). I know its obvious but I haven't read the help thingy so I didn't know
They can be quite useful and they sell for lots of money.

And the thing that's got me hyped is it's being develouped by Bethesda (they made Oblivion, which strangley has many similarities to STALKER.) It's gonna be like SALKER x100!iNeedUrFace4Soup wrote:

The only ones that I really find useful are the Impact and Endurance artifacts. you get two of three decent endurance artifacts and you can run forever. Get good impact artifacts and you can jump of a high rise and survive.zeidmaan wrote:

So can anyone besides Kmarion run this game w/ full dynamic lighting at acceptable frames? i have dual 7900gts's and i get fps in the teens w/ hdr even on minimum settings... I really dont understand this, i can use dynamic lighting in COD2, BF2, and all teh source games w/ absolutely no problem.. this is very aggravating.
My dad's pc can, I set everything on max and full dynamic lighting, no problems, I don't know what the specs are though.<SS>SonderKommando wrote:

I had to edit some file so that the frame rate wasn't horrible when I had dynamic lighting on. I can't remember which one I exactly changed to make it work because I was messing around with the user.ltx file. I found out however, that it will fix the dynamic lighting problem because it fixed the exact same problem on my friends computer.
I want to see if it can work with more computers who have problems with the dynamic lighting issue. So, if anybody still has this problem send me a message and we can find out if it truly fixes it.
Oh and the patch makes your old save file not work, just want to let you know.
