Where is M82 ?

hello

do you know where is the M82 and what is its histoy in BF2 ?

There are pics' of this weapon in game files.

Was it the first US sniper rifle ?
Was it the first UNLOCK sniper rifle ?

Maybe it is a secret weapon, like in Battlefield1942->Desert Combat (on El Alamein, there is a M82 on southern US base, near AH-64) ?
Have you seen it ?

if this were a secret weapon in the game, i'd be inclined to think that it wouldn't be any more advantageous than the M95. could be why it was pulled.

Maybe it will be available with the next patch/expansion.

Ever notice how in BFHQ on the lower right side at the unlockable weapon box, the right arrow is sort of darker than the left one? Maybe the new expansion pack will bring more unlocks.

If I remember correct, you can get binoculars in the enxt expansion.

Sniper *grenade launcher*.
Basicly someone took the ap cannon off an apache and scaled it down a *little* and converted it into a sniper rifle.
25mm as opposed to 30mm.

Note: it was technically refused for deployment because the recoil was determined to "beyond human limitations" for continued use.

But hey, if bf2 grunts are the kind of superman that can bunnyhop indefinately and go prone in mid air and then push up and do it over and over....

This thing ought to be easy in comparison.

These were not binoculars as you think. These were a laser guided missle system. You used them and it produced a new optical targeting viewpoint. You then pushed the trigger which highlighted a target so that an aircraft could drop a laser guided bomb to the target. It was taken out because supposedly it was too unbalancing.

Now if they could just put them back in minue the laser guided system so you could use them as normal military issue binoculars with a zoom and targeting spotting feature.

Except the m95 has a higher muzzle velocity, longer barrel and more accuracy.
the m82 has many advantages over the m94, damage is not one of them.

give your friend a M82, run for 200 meters and then ask him to shoot you in the chest, if after that you can reply me, i'll definitively stop playing with sniper kit

The M82 won't have to kill in one shot. You'll be able to shoot twice, like with the SVD, but not with crappy damage and accuracy.

How about you stand three feet away from me, and I'll shoot you in the chest with any of the pistols in the game. If you survive for more than 10 minutes, we'll include your one shot, one kill sniper rifle.

Yes, off course but i don't mean that i want BF2 to become the perfect war sim game, but to do something funnier, a one shot one skill sniper rifle would be cool

The problem with one shot kill sniper rifles is that then everyone would use one, and it would be incredibly difficult to do much if anybody with ANY sniper skill was in the game.

Sure, realism is a factor, but if you want to talk realism, than MEC forces should not have UAV's, they should not be organized, etc., and US forces would be incredibly over-powered.
