And when was the last time you needed to clean your rifle in a fucking desert in a fucking combat zone???
Look. If your morale is down, you're not going to survive with a perfectly functioning rifle. If you shoot yourself in the foot so you can go home, you wont be able to run very well, will you? I explained what I was saying, and I never said I was in combat. Just read my post.

PS: Broaden your vocabulary.
the M16's action is notorious for having difficulties, particularly in dusty environments.
and right, youve never been in combat.....so you should make the judgment of what they need?
thats really great that you think they dont need to keep their rifles clean, seeing as how you have never needed one to defend yourself.
have you ever even fired a rifle?
you do realize they get dirty, right?
but hey, you know whats best......maybe a cookie or a greeting card will help to raise their spirits when that rifle jams.
if you have never been in that situation, or are at least somewhat familiar with firearms it wouldnt be a good idea to act like you know what people need.
and BTW, everyone that i talk to in iraq isnt worried about shooting themselves in the foot. they are worried about protecting themselves and the brothers they fight with. (which they cant do with cookies or cards )

The only people I saw with low morale were reservists and people like that.  As a matter of fact, I have seen more re-enlistments in a combat zone then I ever saw before we were at war.

That's more like it. Now I see your point. And yeah, I'm obliged to join the army because I'm Swiss, and at 18 that's what we do >.>
But if you say their morale's high, then it's fine. My post was based on what I heard from the guy who posted this topic, not on personal experience.

PS: I never said they don't need anything to clean their rifles with. I just said that they would need things to lift their morale (in which you and usmarine2007 have proved me wrong)
