I have no problem with russia at all... and Iran is a tad bit scary just because I don't know whether to trust Ahmadinejad...

The guy is a Holocaust denier (bad)
in pursuit of nuclear weapons (bad, but he has the right to be)

but also... he is a visionary, he is a major funder of medical science, he is a great diplomat (for the most part), and his leadership style is something we haven't seen in a while...

But, I chose Iran because of this. "Favorite" meaning to me which one I am most interested in. Again... Ahmadinejad could do something very stupid, and the whole world will feel it... but he could also do something great.
